it actually works right out the box! Just tested in 2 different scenarios. First in riverville's mayor house with yuri and with a random woman in ark(i dont remember her name). I suppose if the dialogue triggers in this 2 cases it will work for the rest of the game.
I just tested the Half Aeterna (HIGH ELF DZ) that is my character race for my playthrough
Any custom race from regular Skyrim that uses the base race proxy tags or even ones that add the base Skyrim races back to the game. If you have any custom races in mind, I can look into it.

Half Dragon Race for SSE at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) (which by the looks of it already has the proxies set. Should be compatible as long as you have its requirements)
Yami Neko Race - CBBE-UNP-Vanilla at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) (it has race compatibility in it and should be using one of the proxies so no need either.)
