Would you be able to make a patch or export the face gen for Enderal NPC Overhaul? I've tried a few times but unsuccessful and I keep getting the black faces for npcs.
Since said mod is just loose head meshes, it is not possible for my mod to apply its changes to the hair, as doing so would overwrite the facial differences I'm assuming the other mod applies to the NPCs.
You can ask the other mod author if she is willing to provide a patch. Just make it clear that if she does so, she must include my mod (and its requirements) as requirements.
Otherwise, just pick one. If you're looking for other facial overhaul mods, you can take a look at mine, and see if they are to your taste. They are compatible with this mod here.
I tried looking through the mod description a couple times to be sure I'm not missing something that might indicate the source of my issue with no luck, but I've found a reoccurring issue where a select few NPCs will have hair issues where they either still load the default hair and then load the new hair overtop it to create an awkward looking overlap, will go through the issue where the hair becomes transparent, or in very rare cases both.
It's so far not seemed overly common (my first time noticing it was after killing a wild mage but since then I've noticed some NPCs in Ark with the same problem) but I was wondering if you might have an idea for a solution or another patch or mod that works well to solve this problem. I looked into it a bit and the transparency at least seemed a not uncommon problem when using these hairs, but the mod made to solve the issue doesn't seem to exist for the special edition of skyrim and by proxy enderal SE, just the base version.
The new hair loading on top of the old hair sounds like a compatibilty issue. Check if you have any mods installed that alter the appearance of NPCs and if so, reexport the FaceGenData for these NPCs (see the articles for more info). That should fix the issue.
As for the transparency issue, I have noticed this as well, but I don't know what causes it and/or how it could be fixed. Maybe it is an issue with the meshes (possibly an incorrect shader), but I doubt it.
I do not have the time to look into this further myself, sadly, but if you find any solution, feel free to give me an update here. Thanks!
