Do I have to get a specific version of racemenu for the mod to work? The latest versions on the RaceMenu page of Skyrim SE are all for Anniversary Edition which I don't have, the newest one tagged Special Edition is all the way back from 2018. I have tried it with both but the preset still never shows up.
I am not super well versed in giving IT for vortex as i don't use it. But did you place the presets in a chargen folder in enderal itself or the chargen virtual install folder Vortex creates?
As for the legacy version of Race menu they are listed in alpha-numeric order not in order of upload. The last uploaded version of racemenu for special edition is from Oct 2020 which is v0-4-16 Here is a link if that may help! https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19080?tab=files&file_id=163861&nmm=1.
Install this version and test the trouble shooting methods again. If you are still having issues after that let me know, can't promise that I can help to any great extent though as I exhausted alot of troubleshooting methods for this on the other thread you commented on already.
Glad i could help! i should make sure to update my description to reference specific mod version requirements in my must download bits. Don't forget to endorse if you liked the preset and found my troubleshooting helped! <3
I've really been struggling to use this, I tried resetting the game several times, I've opened up the race menu load preset screen and I'm not seeing anything. I'm using vortex. and I was wondering if I was using the wrong version of race menu or something, I'm using v0-4-19-11 of race menu.
Vortex is pain, I recommend learning MO2 when ever you next mod a bethesda game, much more reliable and is a tool specifically made for bethesda titles. Vortex is a general tool made to cover all games.
For vortex (I am not as well versed in this application so i will be using some more generalized knowledge.) I would say look for the host file for racemenu I can't tell you where that would be exactly since I don't use vortex at all and haven't had it installed in years, it should be in some vortex sub folder follow any signs that could lead to enderal, then find something akin to a "mod installs" folder and scrub down to racemenu and in racemenu should be the the presets folder, put my .jslot file in there.
That being said, if what I recommend above didn't work here is another method that I know works but will require you to go outside of vortex's install directories. The directory you need to find should be as follows steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\CharGen\Presets If any of these folders do not exist, create them as written above and ensure the .Jslot file is in the Presets folder and you should good to go. You can also just go to your Enderal folder, just the main folder not the data folder and drag and drop the data folder in my zip file in to the main enderal folder and it should create the directory listed above for you.
If any of that got that working please let me know! And good luck! <3
Ook, so I tried both methods and neither worked, however I noticed something strange in the RaceMenu folder managed by vortex. There wasn't a Chargen or Preset folder, so I made them, still didn't work. I went directly to my steam Enderal folder and checked the pathway you mentioned in the second method, it was already there and it was the exact same as far as I could tell. (I put it there twice just to be sure, still nothing.)
something I noticed however was that the race menu folder in Vortex didn't start with a Data folder, which was the only difference with the two directories. I'm now considering making a Data folder at the start of the RaceMenu mod folder, but I'm not sure where to put the .bsa and .esp files. I'm not sure if it's worth messing with. Thoughts?
Honestly, if it isn't a directory issue then the only other thing I could think of is racemenu being weird. What version of enderal are you using? The mod or steam version? And did you double check that you got race menu for special edition and not anniversary edition?
Double check your load order so there are no conflicts?
Reading online I notice someone say they had an issue with racemenu seeing their preset but then it worked fine when they just added more presets and suddenly all the old ones were recognized to. You can use any Skyrim preset to do this. Just know if you apply a preset not made for enderal it will look mega messed up. Though that can just be an opportunity for someone to appreciate the starting point I had with my preset atleast. ;P But yeah, sounds like trouble shooting on racemenu itself may be needed. :(
I fumbled with different versions of race menu before but I had anniversary edition for a while so I switched to special edition. I downloaded a large pack of presets as well and that seems to have done it!
Weird solution but I am glad to help you get it working! <3 Remember to endorse if you like it. :3 helps others find the preset that struggle with not having a good base to make their pretty barbies! lol :3
Having same issue. I tried adding more presets too but still it can't detect any of them. I checked the game files and CharGen folder definitely has the presets placed inside them, they just don't show up in-game.
Oh wow she looks lovely! <3 I am really happy to see what you to do with it! ^ ^ Put my playthrough on pause but maybe I will add the high poly heads to my load order when I am able. :3
So I never really played with racemenu much before, this was my first time using a preset for it. So in case others are in my situation you have to LOAD this file under the Presets option in Racemenu mod. Just hoping to save someone some trouble! lol
Lovely preset! I use NPC overhaul and Enderal Kids and my face didn't match everyone else's until now!
I am really happy you enjoy my preset! <3 That is a good tip for first timers, I just expected people who would be playing Enderal to have some experience so it didn't occur to me. lol
First I don't speak Duetsch, sorry for the google translate. You manually install the modifications I have listed then add them to your Enderal folder. If you use the Steam version of enderal you can use a modification manager, you just need to add the zip files to the download section of your modification manager of choice and installation from there is per usual! The load order you don't need to worry too much about so long as any dependencies are sorted. Just try not to make your load order too big. Hope that answers your question! Don't forget to endorse if you like the preset and this was helpful for you today! <3
Thank you! That kind of reaction was why I wanted to post this. Figured if I was having these issues others must be as well considering how big the "face editing" scene is for mainline Skyrim. Hope she serves you well for your character even if you just use her as a base to start on. ^ ^
All good the stock presets are a bit ................ This is way better that any vanilla presets, you did a good job. I just downloaded Enderal SE last night, so my modding journey begins!!!!!!!!!
Perfect timing then! Hope you enjoy the game and modding goes smooth for you! And thanks for the upload, really cool to see what people would do with the preset. :3
No worries!! I am finding SSE mods work well so far, doing manual installs and backing up before I install each mod to roll back in case something goes wrong, so far Unp body/ textures facelight and Enb and a few textures!!
That is good! I tried to play through enderal on oldrim a few years back but got so bogged by technical issues I had to give up. Special edition is so much nicer to mod and just play.

Using Vortex.
Your preset can be taken to new levels with these mods.
Thanks again for your preset!
