You may have noticed that archery is purposefully underpowered in Enderal, to a point where it's frankly almost useless. They clearly want you to focus on magic and some melee fighting for the finishing touches. I find this archery nerf unnecessary, because not only are enemies in Enderal super aggressive and will run towards you, often in packs, stopping you from using the bow soon enough, but also, many will be using magic from a huge distance and simply destroy you - bow or not.
So I raised the damage of all arrows and all bows, the damage of arrows by 100% and the damage of bows by roughly 50%.
Here are a few examples of the base damage (subject to perks and enchantments of course).
Before:
Longbow (6) + Iron Arrow (4) = Damage 10
Oak Bow (10) + Steel Arrow (5) = Damage 15
Rune Bow (12) + Rune Arrow (7) = Damage 19
Starling Bow (18) + Starling Arrow (8) = 36
Stronger Archery:
Longbow (9) + Iron Arrow (8) = Damage 17
Oak Bow (15) + Steel Arrow (10) = Damage 25
Rune Bow (18) + Rune Arrow (14) = Damage 32
Starling Bow (26) + Starling Arrow (16) = Damage 42
In my view now archery is a more viable option, without being overpowered. Because enemies are so aggressive and foolhardy and because they use magic and because some of them are damage sponges with ridiculous health bars, archery alone will rarely save you. And remember, they will be using the same upgraded bows and arrows ...
