Come back to Enderal now in October 2024 and this mod is not working anymore, well, it works when it feels like it, like I've unlocked a place on the map, want to fast travel to the nearest myrad tower get a trip to Riverville to get healed by the priest there, I can't, have to resort to using GOD mode to make it to a tower to get on a myrad as this won't let me fast travel there anymore as I don't have any scrolls on me.
Hey, I've uploaded an updated version, which also restores the default messages of why fast travel currently not works (enemies nearby, etc).
In addition to that my mod comes with a script that checks if teleportation is allowed. If not, then fast travel isn't allowed either. This should help to avoid issues with quests, but surely doesn't magically fix all issues. As a fast travel system wasn't ever intended for Enderal. You can get it here.
Don't you think that this mod would ruin the feel that Enderal provides by not having fast travel? It might just be me but I really like the lack of fast travel. It gives you a kind of risk/reward type system of not having to walk to places but paying 25 coins to get there, or walk there but risk bandits and other enemies.
I like Morrowind as much as the next person. I miss the Mark and Recall spells, and teleporting to the nearest temple or legion base. I miss the emphasis on buying teleport and transit, etc. But the simple fact of the matter is that there's only so many hours in the day, and Skyrim taught me that I'm not a teenager relying on my parents to pay the bills anymore. I tried playing without fast travel and it drove me insane with the complete and utter lack of progress, especially since my playthroughs kept breaking and failing to load since Skyrim was such an unstable mess.
You still have to explore to find the locations. It's just a time saver for those whose time is less readily available. My 40 year old sister, for example, works 12 hour night shifts in a factory, and has 3 kids. She would never be able to play something like Enderal without a mod like this, unfortunately. My time might not be as precious as hers, but a mod like this still interests me, despite it apparently being broken right now.

Known problem: If you have other mods installed for Enderal the fast travel might not work. Solution: Move the "Enderal Fast Travel EV.esp" in the Enderal Launcher to the bottom so that it will be loaded last.
I like this, it works well and very handy when doing those fetch quests, like with the ice claws and magical symbols etc, I still use scrolls and the adorable Myrad creatures but this is definitely handy. Thanks.
