    Okay, this does work with the German version of Elex Overhaul Plus it seems.
    How to::
    - Set game to English
    - Install Moonglasses
    - Start game
    - Craft Moonglasses
    - Equip Moongmasses
    -> Effect triggers
    - Quit game
    - Set game back to German
    - Make sure Elex Overhaul Plus loads after moonglasses, but keep Moonglasses installed
    - Start Game
    -> Moonglasses disappear, but the effect is still active :)

    I'm curious why the localization file for this mod is significantly smaller than the one currently shipped with the game?  This one is 1621KB, whereas the game's original is 1794KB.  Is that a concern that the game might have been updated since this mod was last updated?  I'm quite new to the game (not modding).

    Also, what utility is used to make the localization file human-readable?  Elex Resource Manager will extract it from .pak files, but doesn't seem to be able to handle the decryption, so the extraction is a Pyrrhic victory.  Is there another utility I should be getting for decrypting file formats other than .elextpl?

      Change in size is interesting. I'm using unnoficial tools made by fans, so they could do something differently, but I didn't expected so big change in size.

      Is that a concern that the game might have been updated since this mod was last updated?

      According to steamDB public branch of Elex was last updated 4 years ago, so much earlier than I even started working on this mod. You can always compare number of version you have with number of version in mod description.

      This tool is called
      lianzifu-unpack.elex

      Step by steps instructions how I made this mod are on github page, with all necessary tools as part of that repository.

      Thank you for the reply!  The localization file size difference is most curious.  I wonder if that tool strips out unnecessary baggage that was present in the original?  Nevertheless, that tool will come in handy when I want to polish some of my own modding with appropriately altered in-game text.

      You are right, "lianzifu-pack.elex.cmd" was missing from repository, I've added it now

    Hi! It is not showing up to me. I have the file in the correct folder, the normal version. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELEX\data\packed
    But the problem is the moonglasses don't show up at my game when I go to the workbench. Do I need to do something different?

    EDIT 1: I think I found the problem. I'm using overhaul plus. Can you make it compatible?

    EDIT 2: I deleted all my save games, started a new game, when to a workbench (with my mods, but not the overhaul plus, only the normal overhaul) but the receipt was not there. Then I decided to delete all my mods and keep only your mod. Created a new save game and then put your mod in the folder. Still doesn't work.

      Hi, which version of game are you using? I'm asking Steam/GOG/Epic? I couldn't test them all out, and maybe there are differences between them I don't know about.

      AFAIK there should be no need to create new save game file. When I was testing this mod, I was just loading save that was already existing.

    One question/request:
    Could you maybe make permanent versions of each sunglasses?
    The Classic Sunglasses are overkill IMHO in cities.
    It's green everywhere.
    All I'd need is the regular sunglasses, as highlighting objects is super handy.

    The best for me would be:
    Objects + show enemies on radar + plants (no humans).
    That would be great for exploration without cluttering the screen in town and reduced cheating.
    Don't know if such a thing is in your interest.
    I can very well live without the plants highlighting, too.

    EDIT: As there is the sixth sense ability, all I'd need is a permanent version of the regular sunglasses, as that one seems to be the most useful to me.

    There are characters in the game that wear glasses and hats together, and that's what Jax needs to be allowed to do. Nobody came up with such a modification, it's a pity.

      No, I don't think so. They are editing 2 same files, one for Classic Sunglasses and one with strings (names, descriptions etc.). Barely any mod will work correctly with Elex Overhaul because it edits over 900 files. To make them work both at the same time I would need to prepare special version of the Moonglasses, basically redo the mod on top of Elex Overhaul mod.

      EDIT: sadly for me it doesnt work with ELEX Overhaul Plus :/
      EDIT #2: ok nvm, was reading the next comment about Lighter Flare Mod, and yep, after uninstalling it(dont really need it), your mod worked on the spot.

    I have a GOG version 1.0.2955.0.

    I've installed mod, followed your instruction on putting classic glasses into storage container and picking back, but it still costs 500 elex and effects are not applied.

    Anything else that I can try ? Like some dev console to check for mods for example if there is any?

      Ok issue was found - I was also using "Lighter Flare" mod

      I am happy to hear it works on GOG version! Checking it I had on my TODO list.

      As for the mod compatibility, both mods should be compatible as they edit different files. I found out that recompiling any of the mods to have different priority (both are using priority 2) fix the problem and both mods can be used at the same time. Kinda strange, because currently I have installed two mods with priority 9 and they both are working. For me it looks like mods with same priority will work only if they don't edit same directories, otherwise the one that is loaded later (when sorted alphabetically) will overwrite the other one. I will add figuring out what we can do with it to my TODO list.

      So anyway, if you want to use both of the mods at the same time, download Elex resource manager from here, and follow below instructions:

      • Drag one of those two mods on elexresman.exe, it will create folder with the same name as mod file, in the same place as mod file is located. It will ask you which packet directories you want to unpack ("Please specify the numbers of the directories to be extracted, or * for 'all'."), we want to unpack whole mod so write * and press enter.

        Let's say, you want to change Moonglasses mod priority, so you drag m_2_moonglasses.pak file on elexresman.exe, write *, press enter, and in result you have m_2_moonglasses folder.

      • Drag newly created folder onto elexresman.exe. It will ask for mod priority ("Please enter archive generation (1-9)"), choose number between 1 and 9 that is other than 2 (because other mod is already using priority 2) and press enter. This will create new *.pak mod, with new priority, but also with new name.

        In in our example, drag m_2_moonglasses folder onto elexresman.exe, and then choose 1 and press enter. In result, m_1_moonglasses.pak will be created in the same directory as a mod folder.

      • Clean everything up. You don't need anymore folder that elexresman.exe created, and you don't need older version of the mod you just updated.

        For example, Elex/data/packed should contain following files:
        * c_0_en.pak
        * c_0_na.pak
        * c_1_en.pak
        * c_1_na.pak
        * m_1_moonglasses.pak
        * m_2_torch_5000.pak


      Now after launching Elex, my Classic Sunglasses value is 502, and flare is literally blinding.

      EDIT: In my post some random question marks apparead in places where I was pasting things from clipboard, no idea why, but I removed them.
