Hey, I'm Nyzoka, the creator of this Reshade Preset. In this comment, I'll cover the common issues and offer solutions.

First off, thanks everyone for your feedback. I'm really glad my preset is getting such positive reviews and ranks among the top mods on the site. Thank you!

    - Make sure you have read the installation instructions thoroughly. Most answers to questions can be found there.

    - Make sure to delete all previous RESHADE files. Neat Perfection uses an older version of reshade (4.9.1), which is included in the preset and still allows for the background blur effect (banned in newer versions).

-This effect might occasionally blur some UI elements, which can be annoying. Don't panic! Press F10 to simply disable it. To permanently remove this effect, press "Home" (or "↖") to open the RESHADE configuration window, then uncheck the "MagicDOF" option. Press "HOME" again to close.

    - Some users are concerned about using a script for installing this reshade. You can definitely open the script's content in Notepad to check it out. No "Virus" or "Keygen" is included in this script and its files. This script simplifies the "copy/paste" process for files in the "data" folder.

Most users install NeatPerfection without any issues, and unfortunately, they don't comment on their positive experiences here... So, don't hesitate to let us know in the "POST" section that everything is going great for you too! :)

Sadly it's crashing the game at the start. I've tried manual and automatic instalation. Seems like it's not working anymore.

Edit: It's working! I've changed fullscreen mode to windowed fullscreen, and that's it.

Can you send a screenshot pease ? It's normal for visual changes to seem radically different at first. But it's entirely possible that you might have an incompatibility somewhere too, Hmmm :/ . Unfortunately, it's "normal" for parts of the UI like text to be blurry due to the background blur effect. You can disable it with the F10 key, and reactivate it to take your best screenshots later! ;) It's a limitation of reshade. It doesn't distinguish between the game and the interface. This is beyond my control.

For whatever reason Reshade says it downgrades to v4.10 when I instal the preset

The preset also doesn't seem to work as expected, the blur is straining my eye, tho I can tweak blurr strength to fix that

after tweaking gaussian offset and strength this is what I get (magic DoF removed to avoid blurred text too)

Hi, im having the same results from your first screenshot. Can u share the tweaks you made to have the second screenshot results?
edit: sorry just noticed the sliders to tweak when not in performance mode, new to reshade software.

Yes, NeatPerfection uses an older version of reshade (4.9.1) to enable the background blur effect, which is now blocked by ESO in newer versions. The F10 key can be used to disable it. You can also open the reshade menu with the "Home" key (or "↖"), and untick "MagicDOF".
Some users are also bothered by the gaussian blur effect. You can disable it from the reshade menu using the "Home" key (or "↖"). I also recommend disabling the LumaSharpen effect in addition, and using a high-performance antialiasing built into the game.

As of 4/27/24 heres a solution to get rid of the blur effect when looking at things

    1. Locate your shaders folder (included in the reshade-shaders folder downloaded from this mod)
probably something like this "P:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\reshade-shaders\Shaders"

    2. Find the "DOF.fx" file and delete it

    3. Celebrate your newfound clarity!

(also I tested this mid-game and it worked)

this just.. doesn't really do anything?? Had to use manual installation (yes it's installed in the correct folder) since auto-install said there was no directory. Pressing home brings up the Reshade gui, but there are no plugins or settings shown. Reshade says that no memory is being used either, so nothing is actually happening. Overall strange files and strange experience. Far from a normal reshade preset.

There's a lot of blur and a pretty aggressive blue tint, idk if i did something wrong. i removed the files people said from the ini, but its still doesn't look right.

Windows antivirus finds a keygen, why?
