For anyone that isn't enjoying the lighting shadow effects on lanterns and torches.. delete the file from the sfx folder and that will keep lighting the same as vanilla. Personally it was super distracting and glitchy especially with shields. If there is a fix for this or some knowledge about it, I am unaware so feel free to enlighten me. But out of the box it was very unpleasant.
Also side note I couldn't get Torrent's lantern to show up. Merged regulation bin file with mine and chr folder was there but no dice.
Great Mod. Trying it out with Ray Tracing and trying to judge the impact on performance if any. I noticed the 8K optional file. Anyone knows how much of a performance impact the 8K optional file makes (specially with Ray Tracing).
Does anyone know how to make this mod compatible with convergence? The file sfxbnd_commoneffects.ffxbnd.dcx is the one causing issues with the effects of the new magic and so on. Thank you very much!
Merged this mod with Significantly Better LOD Restored 1.16 using Smithbox and it caused shadow flickering. Not right away though. Which is weird.
I was careful when merging both regulation.bin files to make sure neither of the files had any conflicting modified parameters and the first time I ran the game it all worked out fantastic. However, subsequent boot-ups of the game and the shadows have terrible flickering. I’m at a loss for what could be the problem as nothing changed.
If anyone has some insight or suggestions I’d appreciate it. Bummer to, because I was finally happy with how the game looked and ready to really dig in. Being honest here, it isn’t that great looking of a game vanilla.
Could it be the area you were in? Regardless there will be a few areas in the game that the mods lighting isn't perfect and causes some flickering. This happened to me too, eventually reinstaling the game (I know, I know) and updating my drivers made the problem sort itself out. There's actually a custom reg bin file a user named Krauser uploaded in the significantly better LOD restored discussion that merges these 2 mods pretty successfully, except for one small caveat which is it makes the grand lifts crash to desktop if you attempt to use them, lol, at least on my machine.
No, and I know what you’re talking about. I did experience some flicker in various towers for example and a couple at the Round Table Hold. But it was rare and nowhere else.
My issue was I created multiple regulation.bin files and needed to edit them to get mods to play nice together and I used the wrong one. It was one I was in the middle of editing and not the finished one. So it was completely my bad.
Anyway, I’m over 130hrs into the game now and I’ve been using this mod along with Significantly Better Lods Restored and a couple others to get the game looking great.
Dynamic Shadows really change the feel of the game and Better Lods is a must as the pop-in and short view distance in this game was awful.
Can I ask how you managed that exactly? Literally just manually adjust param values based off of the CSVs? It seems like this mod is doing more than that considering all the sfx files n' such.
"Your newest download on this page does not include the DLL file, so I'm assuming we don't need it anymore?" correct. I have heard others say that this mod is not working lately, I will look into this in the next few days.
I can't get this mod to work for the life of me. I slap the files where they need to go, launch from modengine and it never ever works. Tried multiple times over the last year.
are you on the latest version of ER? DLC installed? Did you put the mod in the Mod engine 2 "mod" folder? Did you launch from launchmod_eldenring.bat? other than that i cant think of any other ways to trouble shoot it.

just works. 1 dll in the mod folder with modloader.
