UPDATE 0.9:
Fixed glitchy shadows.
I haven't tested all locations yet but this should fix all glitchy shadows in the game.
If you find any, please post them in the comments section with details.
This mod is a "remake" of sorts of the fantastic mod Force dynamic shadows at Elden Ring Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) by chainfailure.
Features:
• All torches and lantern cast real time dynamic shadows on everything (90%) in the game. (except for the torch pole, still working on that)
• The light from the lantern is placed directly in front of the lantern for a much more realistic lighting.
• Alomst Everything (90%) of objects now cast real time shadows.
• The torches now work at any time. (whether raised up or not)
This is a WIP there are some minor bugs here and there but it works perfectly for the most part. I will continue to update this as I continue to work out the bugs.
Installation:
---Mod Engine 2 Method---
• Needs Mod Engine 2. (Releases · soulsmods/ModEngine2 (github.com))
• Put the .dll in the Mod Manager root folder (not "mod" folder) where launchmod_eldenring.bat is.
• Put the regulation.bin in the "mod" folder as per usual mod installs.
• Find this >>>>>> external_dlls = in the config_eldenring.toml in the Mod Engine 2 directory. Then add ["eldenring_force_dynamic_shadows.dll"] after external_dlls =.
• Launch the game with launchmod_eldenring.bat.
• ENJOY!
(If this doesn't work, try the Elden Mod Loader at Elden Ring Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) and drop the .dll in the "mods" folder it creates. Install the regulation.bin the same way as mentioned above.)
---Elden Mod Loader Method---
• Install Elden Mod Loader at Elden Ring Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
• Place only the .dll in the Elden Ring/Game/mods/ folder. The regulation.bin still goes into "mod" folder in mod engine 2 directory. (without quotations)
• Open mod_loader_config.ini, and under [loadorder] section paste "eldenring_force_dynamic_shadows.dll = 0" (without quotations)
• Run the game through mod engine 2 with "launchmod_eldenring.bat".
• ENJOY!
