I'm also having the same issues as everyone else, I don't want to have to figure out DSMapstudio or Smithbox, is anyone able to link me their fixed version?
I too await this day. Doing character challenges for certain characters that happen to wear precisely high boots and no pants would be great if I had this available on a whim, versus having to use programs I've got no experience with.
Can this not be made as a parts file, like so many other armor set mods, without the use of a .bin change or external programs?
It took some trial and error but I managed to make it work. I took the regulation.bin file from the game itself (Though i don't know if that's healthy to do. That might be the reason for calf problem.) and merged it with the CSV file via Smithbox. Legs are visible yay.
But the calves are clipping through the boots now. Tried to make the characters legs thinner at the mirror but it didn't fix it. Good enough though. Still one of the best mods for armors. Simple and aesthetic. Great job!
I'm sure I'm not doing something correctly, but this mod isn't working for me. It shows the boots and belt, but the actual legs are missing. I saw another post of a different person having the same issue. I followed the install directions exactly.
"To install with ModEngine2, place the regulation.bin and parts folder into your mods folder."
I have no other outfit mods or anything that uses a regulation.bin file, so no conflicts. It seems either instructions are missing, unclear, or something is wrong with this and it just isn't working? If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
Open a modded or copied vanilla of regulation.bin with DSMapStudio or Smithbox (both need to be supporting the latest version of the game).
Follow the many tutorials out in the internet on how to create a project to start editing your modded/copied vanilla regulation.bin.
Search "EquipParamProtector". In the second page on the right, search "Traveler's Boots". In the third page, search "Mask". Find Mask 12 ("Hide Upper Leg Area") and Mask 14 ("Hide Lower Leg Area") and change their 1s to 0.
Hello everyone! Here I leave you a little tips... If you want to use the boots without modifying the Regulation.bin file, you can change the base part of the boots for another that is compatible, example: Change Traveling Boots (lg_m_2210.partsbnd.dcx) for Perfumer Sarong (lg_f_1130.partsbnd.dcx)... However, this brings with it a bug that causes your character to appear barefoot in the cinematics. I hope it helps you and someone can solve the cinematic bug.
Chiming in to say my girl and I absolutely love what you are doing here firstly. Next unfortunately is an issue of clipping. I've taken these steps so far, In this order:
Pant-less boots have overridden the intended original file (Traveller's Boots). Same with the Pant-less Carian Knight Boots. (files added to "parts" folder) Regulation.bin loaded to DSMS to identify specific flags. CSV imported to separate DSMS instance to compare/contrast/confirm. All necessary flags ticked, New regulation.bin file saved, added to mod folder. game started with new character (old habit).
Carian boots function flawlessly, but the Traveler boots calves clip through on both male(vanilla) and female(vanilla) models. I have no idea why this happens, or what i'm doing incorrectly unfortunately. Double and Triple checked each to be certain. Can you help us please?
Lastly, do you still have a link to those mask flag definition list? I've been looking for something like that forever.
do you have a pic of the clipping? and also what musculature are you using? it's possible that i overlooked a certain body type + musculature combo.
for the mask flags, this is what i used for reference, though not for this mod: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1evpDLAfi1b3cYfGilDtMWXDvynwyN_lbX1chnSSR7Uk/edit#gid=226147324
Thank you so much for the prompt response. We used the -Young- body type with -Standard- musculature. I'm not in front of the game right now, But I remember we did increase the size on the leg slider. Up 20pts - 30pts from the default 128. I did make sure to check and recheck all the flags against the link you supplied. (Huge Thank you for that as well! 😁) I'm still fairly certain the problem lies with some thing I'm doing incorrectly. In the meantime, I'll try reducing the leg size back to the default 128 on the slider.
May I please ask? I've been trying to remove the outer sleeves + rear lace, and reduce the length of the skirt (to above the knee) on both the Blue Warrior, and Fire/Blackflame monk. YouTube has been a bit hit and miss with which tutorials are outdated, and which are most informative for what I'm trying to do. Do you have recommendations for tutorials/tools etc? I'd appreciate them greatly.
I am encountering an issue similar to LoveKiiri in which the legs are not rendered. Of course I could just do the manual entry editing like good MegaHurtzMPG stated; however as a serious student in modding, I tried my hand at DSMapStudio followed a How to merge regulation.bin files with DSMapStudio tutorial from the Nexus articles and even with following each of the steps posted therein resulted in the aforementioned missing leg problem. So in order to learn for my future of using your mods please explain how you yourself would go about installation and merging.
p.s. I am also having issues with non rendered hair in the case of your Dung Eater's Sunlight Pendant mod and invisible back of head, just the face rendering like a floating mask, with the Exile's Scarf.
for my mods i already have the .csv with changes so you don't need to compare my regulation to the vanilla one and export your own csv.
assuming you don't have a modded regulation.bin you wanna work off of, i'd just make a new project with the vanilla regulation.bin to start.
then on the left side search bar, look for EquipParamProtector, and click on it to highlight it. After that go to the top navigation bar and pick Edit -> Import CSV -> From file -> All. It will prompt you to open a csv file, so pick the csv that i bundled with my mod. Repeat that for any other mods with a csv you wanna merge.
after that you can go to the middle column and click the drop down arrow beside Search <Ctrl+F> and select modified. You should get a list with green names that indicate all the modified entries, which should match all the csvs you imported. This step is just for double checking so you don't have to do it.
save your work, then go to File -> Open in Explorer -> Open Project Folder. There you'll see a regulation.bin, which is the one you just edited. Copy that to your ModEngine2 mods folder and you should be good to go.
if you need help with ModEngine2 then i'd point you to their getting started section on their github readme. i generally try to avoid troubleshooting basic mod tools since there's usually other people who have made much better resources that i could. https://github.com/soulsmods/ModEngine2
