This is pretty interesting. Got it working but the directions need to be modified:
Download Mod Engine 2 from github, then extract the Mod Engine 2 files to X:\[Your game directory]\ELDEN RING\Game
Download the file, then extract the file to [MO2 directory]\plugins\basic_games\games
Create new instance in MO2, check "show all support game", then choose Elden Ring
You should now be in the main page of MO2 and it should show you a list of mods and "Elden Ring" on the right with the icon.
Click the "Elden Ring" button with the icon and from the drop down menu that shows up, click edit.
Change the eldenring.exe to modengine2_launcher.exe as the executable in MO2.
In my instance, when I open the game with MO2, it's running awful. It might be because I'm on Linux but in any case these might be helpful to other users who are trying to get this to run on Windows.
Tried to make a new instance on a completely separate MO2 installation from my other MO2, I tried creating either portable and standard instance but in both I'm getting this error message.
Cannot open instance 'Elden Ring',the game directory 'G:\Games\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING' doesn't exist or the game plugin 'Elden Ring' doesn't recognize it. Select the game managed by this instance.
I'm positive that this directory is correct as how MO2 auto detects with the plugin.
Hi there. My first post here. I imagine you have probably already figured this out, but after the error prompt appears, you go back to the game selection window, but this time, instead of selecting the Elden Rng profile, select browse, and then point to the "Elden Ring\Game" folder. It will then will load correctly. This is what worked for me. I imagine it's looking for the .exe file inside the "Elden Ring" folder, but the executable (and the rest of the game data) are nested one directory below, in the "Game" folder. Hope it helps!
No idea, looks like it's meant to let you manage all your mods through mod organizer which would be cool. But surely if he took all the time to do that he would take 2 mins to write a brief description or reply to a comment
Maybe advantage of this utility is that you not need add manually record about new mod in mod engine 2 config file, but it just theory, can somebody confirm this?
