Huge shoutout to NexusMods user, Dweet! Thank you so much for all the info and help you gave me with this mod. Without you this mod would not be possible. Dweet taught me how to create and make new spirit ashes! So exciting yet so time consuming to create new spirits!
Huge shoutout to Discord user, MyMaidisKitchenAid! Thank you for all the info and help you provided in helping me get one of the passives to work properly on NON NPC Spirit Ashes! How to install?
STEP 1: Please make sure you download MOD ENGINE 2 first! Create a new folder on your desktop and name it "Elden Ring Mods" or whatever you fancy. Drag and drop Elden Ring contents from MOD ENGINE 2 into the newly created folder. And then drag and drop or copy paste my mod into the mod folder.
STEP 2: Next download Elden Mod Loader and drag and drop those files into your Elden Ring game directory.
STEP 3: The next download isn't really required, it is optional. However I highly RECOMMEND it. Because Seamless Co-op gives an alternate save file away from your vanilla save file. Which will keep you safe from being banned when playing with mods. Download Seamless Co-Op and drag and drop those files into your Elden Ring game directory. Please download and use version 1.5.1 instead of 2.0.0.
Also please note, using Seamless Co-op's tiny pot item causes the spirit ashes' follow & warp mechanic to not work properly for some unknown reason. This basically causes spirit summons to lose the ability to warp to you. But most spirits that can climb ladders(if they have the animation to climb ladders) can still "attempt" to follow you. I cannot fix this issue, only the Seamless Co-op devs can fix it.
STEP 4: Once all these steps are done or unless you skipped step 3. Make sure STEAM is currently open. And then simply go back to the "Elden Ring Mods" folder or whatever you named it. Click "launchmod_eldenring.bat" to play with mods.
When updating, simply drag and drop/copy paste and overwrite to replace/update. Please refer to the "changelog" for changes/hints for certain spirit ashes/summons.
I absolutely love this mod! Thank you so much for it <3 I've seen peeps asking for a not so "OP" version of this mod. Would you consider having 2 versions of this mod whenever you update it for the coming DLC? One version just like it is now (perfect for me) & the other for peeps who want a more "balanced" version? It would be really nice :) Thanks again & have a nice day :)
That is my current plan when I rebuild it once DLC releases.
Most likely I will release 3 versions.
Balanced, OP, and Vanilla.
Balanced will be supported and updated. This version will contain many changes to vanilla files, but will be balanced around enemies choosing to attack both the player and spirit ashes equally. AI, abilities, loadouts, etc will be improved for spirit ashes.
OP will not be supported but will be updated. This version will contain many changes to vanilla files but enemies will always prioritize spirit ashes over the player. Meaning the player can just watch battles play out. Ai, abilities, loadouts, etc will be improved and stats will be stronger for spirit ashes.
And Vanilla will not be supported but will be updated. This version will contain minor changes to vanilla files mostly only adding new summons without messing with their AI or items, or load outs.
Good evening... Can i ask which item.msgbnd.dcx did you change with this mod? Because i want to try to use other mod in my game but cannot play with two types of of item.msgbnd.dcx... Plz... Help many thanks.
Hi, I downloaded the mod after Seluvis was killed and finished both Ranni and Blaidd's questline, including killing him. I can't see the spirit ashes for Ranni and Blaidd at Seluvis' corpse. Is there anyway around this?
I changed it to be a quest reward to make it more immersive. When you receive moonlight greatsword at the end of Rannis questline you will also receive her puppet spirit ash. You get Blaide's puppet spirit ash after killing him when the Black knives attack the Carian estate.
I am aware of a new update, which I have decided not to update the mod. The mod is going to be rebuilt and updated once Shadow of the Erdtree releases on June 21st/22nd.
Until then this mod is probably outdated and unsupported until DLC releases. The mod is given as is until further notice.
I have done everything exactly as in the instructions, except for Seamless Coop since i don't need it I don't see what i have done wrong, i have put Mod Engine 2 on the desktop, put the mod files in the mod folder, and ran the game from eldenring bat files. I already had Mod loader in my game files since i needed it for another mod.
There should be another file that comes with it. It includes the text description. Try downloading it again because I may have forgotten to add the text folder after updating. But it should be fixed now.
If I use a save from this mod, but start Elden Ring vanilla -- but *still completely offline*, what will happen?
Will the modded spirit ashes simply revert to their vanilla versions? What abou the ashes that did *Not* exist in the original game? Will they just dissappear from the inventory or cause corrupted/unknown entries to be present in the inventory?
Nothing as long as you are offline. But the moment you go online with a modded save you will be BANNED. Always back up your vanilla saves or use elden ring coop mod which gives you a modded save away from vanilla save.
Unfortunately, unique new summons will DISAPPEAR permanently from your inventory if you load your save in vanilla after playing with this mod. This is irreversible as far as I can tell. For example, after fighting Blaidd I received his summon as loot after the fight. When I loaded the save in vanilla the summon disappeared and it did not reappear after loading the save in mod again. Since it is not possible to repeat the fight, the summon is gone. Standard summons are not affected. They will just change their form depending on whether it is vanilla or mod.
put the seamless co-op DLL file and Ini file in the mods folder added by mod loader and run elden ring through mod engine 2 and it'll work and just install mods like normal
