I don't quite understand what you mean. The mod works fine on my computer. The lantern effect is not good, but the rest of the shadow effects are perfect.
Could you write here exactly where you put what files and where? just to be clear. I want better shadows because I refuse to run RT it just hogs too much performance, but the price paid is the shadows are terrible.
Install the Elden mod Loader. Place mod in the Elden Ring/Game/mods/ folder. Open mod_loader_config.ini, pasteunder [loadorder] Then the mod will run normally. btw, this mod can bring you more shadows, but it can't bring higher-definition shadows. The responsibility of this game's RT and this mod are different
i really like this mod apart from how the lantern reacts to being moved and the players clothing textures clipping with it, going into caves with the lantern is like an epileptic nightmare. mod really points out how less of dynamic shadows and light sources there are in this compared to ds2
Yes agreed, would love a version that is the same but without shadows for the equipable lantern (if possible). The shadows become quite obtrusive due to the proximity to the player. Maybe the author will make a separate version like this next time he updates!
really nice maybe make the description foolproof by specifying that the dll goes in to modengine's root folder because there is another folder called modengine2 inside and I was banging my head trying to figure out why it's not working xD
This mod is a .dll so file so I suggest installing it through "Elden Mod Loader" which can be found on the Nexus. Drop the Elden mod Loader files into your Elden Ring directory steamapps/common/Elden Ring/Game (where your .exe is). Create a folder in your Elden Ring directory called "mods" Drop this mod's .dll file into the mods folder you just created. Back in your Elden Ring directory, there will be a mod_loader_config.ini file from Elden Mod Loader. Open this file and put "eldenring_force_dynamic_shadows.dll = 0" under [loadorder] Go in game and run around a site of grace. If you can see your shadow, the mod is working.
thank you for the explanation but it doesnt work for me. i deleted all other .dll mods to see if it was a load order issue but it still didnt work. tried it with mod engine 2 too and no luck
I'm still not sure if I want to release it in this state or improve some smaller things. Here's a video of the current version though: https://twitter.com/FPSoulsProject/status/1683923293265354758
Thank you for updating this. I will not play the game without it. It is essential!!! I wonder why each update breaks the mod? I need to beat the game before the DLC comes out, when they update it and this mod breaks I pause playing. Not your fault and thank you for staying with it.

If possible at all of course, but I'll be patient.
