To fix this mod, or any other Torrent replacer, follow these instructions courtesy of GardenofEyes and HonorKnight26:
Hey friends, there's a fix available for Torrent mods that was created by user Garden of Eyes. The link is only in the Souls Modding Discord, but I will share it here. I've tested it with my own Torrent Recolors, Loretta's Horse and Tree Sentinel's Horse and it fixed all of them.
Once downloaded, remember to extract the file. My anti-virus flagged and removed the program and I had to restore it, so just be aware of that if your anti-virus is testy like mine. Don't worry, it is safe to use; Garden of Eyes has made a ton of excellent stuff. All you have to do is drag/drop the file c8000.chrbnd of this mod (or any Torrent mod) onto the program ERTorrentFixer. That's it! Install to your game as usual.
if anyone comes across the issue where you get thrown an exception when trying to drag the c8000.chrbnd into the fixer exe, the fixer still did its job and you can use the file now
Some changes were made to the game code and a soundfile reference as been changed, which makes the game crash on launch.
The easiest way to fix this is downloading a replacer which comes with a regulation.bin with a small fix like in this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/2408?tab=files
Just put your usual torrent replacer but MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THAT REGULATION.BIN IN YOUR MOD FOLDER
I tried using the .BIN file from the Dire Wolf mod you linked and the game loaded up fine but the model for torrent was stretched out and broken. any idea how I can fix this?
didnt work, the fix in the reg file of the wolf doesnt fix the crashe, the reason it fixed yours is because you used his entire reg file which isnt update 1,9
If anyone is wondering why their game is crashing after the 1.09 update, and they use this mod...it's because of this mod. And seeing as the author deleted their account, you'd better just delete the files related to this mod. Those are going to be:
Greetings, first of all what a great MOD, torrent looks so pathetic and I'm not saying it in a bad way is that... it's so simple compared to the rest of the mounts in the game, that's why when I saw this mod I just had to try it install it, the problem is that I have the version of the game 1.05 I have followed the steps to the letter, but the mod simply does not apply, maybe I am confusing the folder where it should go? or the version is incompatible? the folder where those files go using the UXM is the parts folder? or simply paste the files where the .exe of the game is, if you could guide me a little I would greatly appreciate it since I very much want this aspect for my poor and pathetic torrent.
Hi guys, I'd love to have this skin for Torrent, but I seems to can't to get it working. I've extracted and replaced the file, but Kaiden is not loading up, still shows Torrent's skin. Any tips?

This mod works with Mod Loader 2. NOTE: I am able to use both "Mod Loader" and "Mod Loader 2" at the same time. So hopefully there will not be any conflict. (Although I only use a few mods myself)
Basic Steps 1) Extract Mod Loader 2 files anywhere you like. 2) Copy the chr folder (from this Horse Replacement mod) into the mod folder in Mod Loader 2. 3) Run the launchmod_eldenring.bat file.
If you're going to do more horse mods like this, can you look at the godrick knight horses? I'm still pretty early in the game so i dont know where else you can find similar horses, but there's a mounted godrick knight near one of the cliffs east of stormveil castle and thats the only one i found, but he had a really cool armored horse that would be awesome to ride ourselves. To my knowledge nobody's done a fully functional knight barded horse on nexus yet
