Awesome mod. I'm looking to do something similar for
The shield grease effects. I really don't like the blue color added to the shields. Does it seem viable to do something in this vain as an edit as well?

I don’t see why not. You could apply what I did for this mod onto other items. I’m not an expert by any means, but I assume you’d find the grease item in the regulation.bin file and look for visual effects you could “turn off”, which is changing a number to -1 like this mod does.

Very cool! Thank you I'll have to dive into this a bit more.

This is one of the most valuable mods for me, without it I can't stand using the ritual talismans due to their constant noise and visuals. A big thank you!

With the latest patch, the mod only seems to work for the ritual shield talisman. Ritual sword talisman seems to keep it's visual and audio effects. I thought it could be a conflict with the other mod I'm running (Skip the intro), so I removed it, but it didn't help. It still could be a local problem, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention it here in case it's not.

Side note: An interesting side effect when running an older version of this mod (v5) with the latest patch (1.09) which made some changes to the jelly shield. The jelly shield buff will only apply to non-active weapons. So if you have a sword in your first right-hand slot and an axe in your second right hand slot, while holding the shield in your left-hand and apply the buff, then only the axe will be buffed if you look in the menu. If you then switch to the axe (which is in the second right-hand slot) and look at the menu again, now the sword is buffed but not the axe. At first I thought it might just be a menu issue, but after trying it in combat it became clear that the buff doesn't apply to the weapon you're currently holding. According to the menu the buff does apply to the weapon you're not holding, but there's no way to tests that since as soon as you switch to it, it becomes the active weapon and is no longer affected by the buff. So, basically, it only buffs the weapons when you can't actually use them. Just something I found funny and thought I'd share.

Thank you for catching this, turns out I missed disabling the effects for the Ritual Sword Talisman. I updated the mod so that's fixed now.

I wouldn't recommend running older versions of this mod, as the files that are edited are what determine the stats for weapons, abilities, etc. By running version 5 like you said, your game would be using outdated stats and info from game version 1.08.1.

Edit 4/19/2023: Looks like the Jellyfish Shield thing was a bug that's been fixed with 1.09.1.

Thanks for this! Would you know how to remove other effects and sounds in general?

There is no mod that removes the annoying deathblow or clang animations.  It would be great to get different sounds or removal of the jarry hit effects for the counter parry animation etc.

Glad you like it! Turning sounds and visual effects off should be a simple edit, that's how it was for this mod. I have instructions on the Description page to do the edit yourself if you're like me with multiple mods that edit the regulation file. In theory, you could apply the method to other areas like parry sounds/effects. More than likely you'd have to edit each individual weapon to turn effects off; it's a simple number change, but potentially time consuming depending on what you're going for. Easy for one weapon, tough for all of them lol
