Huge fan of the mod but was a little disappointed that ring of the Ranger doesn't affect crossbows, nor do we get regenerating storm bolts. While this is likely intentional, are there any thoughts of creating a ring for Crossbows or including them in the Ring of the Ranger buff?
sometime further down the line absolutely, im just kind of burned out at the moment due to the situation between ERR and unalloyed wich also has affected my mod. I will resume development tho, probably after the DLC as it is exciting to have some new tools from the DLC to work with.
Wonderful to hear you still plan on working on this mod in the future!
Sorry that some of the modpack drama has been redirected to you, hoping it doesn't completely deter you from the modding scene; I know players can be quite rude when it comes to mod authors.
I am very excitedly looking forward to what you may decide to do with the new toys we get from the DLC. Love your work, thanks for the fun.
The roars increase target priority, but the stat in ER just works a little weirdly. once enemies aggro on a target its unlikely they will swap aggro instantly. you have to preemptively roar to make yourself a more importaint target.
I will begin moving to standalone upon SotE's drop, until then i will take things slow. Its a good cutoff point anyways, for now the mod is playable on the legacy ERR version linked in the description and I dont plan abandoning it.
Playing on latest ERR and 1.10 and it seems ring of kindling consumes both health and mana, still does the weapon buff and returns the health on hit, from what Ive read and understand it should only consume health?
the spells also cost FP, the ring doesent change the FP costs, only gives sustain in the form that the lifesteal is always greater than the initial health cost.
that would be beyond broken, its supposed to be an additional tool that increases the damage of all your other arrows, not just a better arrow for permanent use. if you want to change it you can look into common.emevd and look for the event that gives the arrows and change the amount.
Love the mod, using it in conjunction with Unalloyed/Reforged but is there a way to remove the SFX/VFX from the Ring of the Devoted? I tried editing some params but couldn't get it to work. My eyes and ears can't seem to break away from it, I'm too easily distracted it looks like.
i dont suppose a non installer version of the mod will be available again anymore will it? cause whenever my friend tries to use the installer on his steam deck it doesnt work
if not, there isnt any big issue as we can just ignore the mod, i just figured id ask to be sure
apologies for any words that are hard to read, my keyboard keeps falling apart
sadly no, the convinience on my side to not need to repack the mod 3 times a week due to ERR updates is just too high for me to consider also providing manual patching files. if you are on pc and your friend on SD tho you can just send him your patched version via google drive and he can unpack it.
When you write installation instructions, if you miss out a key part of the information, you've basically wasted your own time writing them. You need to be able to follow the instructions yourself, step by step, and get it right 100% of the time, all while pretending you have ZERO prior knowledge. Please write better instructions in future, because this line effectively means NOTHING to the majority of people that come here, and will only frustrate and annoy people attempting to enjoy the mod you have spent significant time crafting.
While I partly agree that referring to the tool rather than the shortcut is not the best idea and will change the description, ill have to be honest with you. We use Gideon since months and have the instructions written like that, and noone until now has taken issue with them. The shortcuts that come with both mods explicitly state they are a setup for the Icons. ERRs installation instructions also refer directly to the shortcut by name so if you would have followed their installation instructions on their modpage you would know what Gideon is because of the massive ascii title it has in its command window. If you indeed have no clue about modding and try to install our mod, why did you skip the ERR installation instructions on their page, that would give you more than enought context to know what is meant by the dreaded gideon line. Sorry if you got frustrated but your claim that it means nothing to most users is simply not true, you are genuinely the first one that points this part of the instructions out and says they are completely illegible.
While I agree with you about the instruction being unclear. Your yapping is invalid because you can't blame the mod author of this mod for ERR installation process. It doesn't make a lick of sense. It's clearly your fault to skip the installation instruction from ERR and then proceed to blame the author of a completely different mod.
