Beside subjective of personal taste, I knew that so many type and models of Monitors/TVs out there. LCD/LED/OLED/QLED ; IPS/TN/VA... etc. And they have their own characteristic (from neutral colors to vibrant colors, high to low gamma/black levels/white point, etc).
Therefore I made a simple adjustment UI for this mod. You can adjust Dark Level, Light Intensity, Color Saturation, etc.by press END keyboard button to show-up Reshade UI. Just adjust the value to matching with your current screen (Monitor/TV) profile or fit with your taste/liking.
You can create your own various presets based on this custom shader.
Also, the 3D Stereoscopic mode optimized for LG 3D Cinema Screen (e.g LG OLED 65E6P, passive 3D screen; top-bottom), for other 3D screen (e.g Sony and Samsung) you may change 3D stereoscopic format mode from top-bottom to side by side (SBS) from this UI to get better 3D Depth perception.
Please keep in mind that I made this custom shader as nuetral as I can, so it can appears well in various type and models of monitor/TV. But you may create various preset profile that match with your own liking / taste from this custom shader.
This is an example and shader settings from my friend (thanks, Andy!). He loves to see a dramatic night sky (stars, nebula and skies). Dark Level = +0.040 ; Light Intensity = + 0.100; Color Saturation = +0.346
No, this custom shader in not guarantee to work well with Reshade 6.xx as it currently using older Reshade framework syntax reference. Some function may already deprecated in the Reshade 6.xx, but it still so important in my custom shader.
keep in mind, this is NOT just a preset.
for me why bothering to using Reshade 6.xx if all already running fine in my PC? If you insist to using Reshade 6.x.x that is your choice, also that is your pain, not mine. lol
I was impressed by your shader for Dragon's Dogma 2 so I decided to give this a try for the Elden Ring DLC and I must say I'm blown away once again. A very lightweight way to dramatically improve the visuals without changing the tone of the game. At first I was skeptical about the heavy bloom but it quickly grew on me and made the already mystical lands of Elden Ring feel even more adventurous. Very good work.
Sorry for the double post. Just tested this. EAC wont let me play with it. Test with no EAC, it work fine, looks really good. But I always play online, so I can't use it.
I'm sorry for being slow reply this message. I'd been so busy with my real-life job (out of my city), and just get a time to goes online with my old mobile phone.
Yupe, too bad this will not let you play online because EAC will blocked it since I've using new Reshade 5.x framework (maybe EAC still not giving a "white flag" for this new Reshade 5.x runtime). But as soon as after I've get home; I will test this with old version of Reshade (version 4.x or 3.x). I remember that I was playing some online games that using EAC with Reshade 4.x, 3.x and 2.x framework and it run so well (e.g Apex, Division 1 and Division 2, etc.)
But if you intend to play it online right now with this custom shader; you may try to install the older Reshade (4.x or 3.x). And then copy my file "EldenRing.fx" into your standard Reshade folder (Elden Ring\Game\reshade-shaders\Shaders\), and after that just activate my shader by given a check tick on "EldenRing.fx". I hope this will solve your problem.
I apologize for too rushed to posting this mod. I was using "fling trainer" when starting to made this custom shader (Elden Ring like the other From Software's games are very difficult to taming, so it's so difficult to test the shader result on some certain scene if without a trainer). And during that time I was disabled EAC with "start_protected_game.exe"
I was wrong, I should test it with online mode to make sure it will run well with this mod (I assumed EAC is work fine with any Reshade). I'd just too rushed to post this mod, a half hour before I leave my home for a long trip.
Hi, Yes, I already tested with some older version of Reshade framework and it work well with online mode. BUT I've got a valid information from my trusted friend that From-Software don't like any dynamic library injectors (even with off-line mode~ maybe they afraid it may cause crashes) running with their game; therefore I don't dare to recommended to using any Reshade/3DMigoto or equals and using it with Elden Ring; until there is an official statement from developer that they will allow us to using Reshade with EldenRing online.
Hi Chris, Thank you for your comment and the mod. I tried installing an older version of Reshade 4.0 but the game fails to run. It gives me an application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. Then appears another dialogue box titled Easy Anti--Cheat: Untrusted system file (C:\Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game|dxgi.dll. Can you please guide me how to use the mod online? Please provide instructions. Many many thanks!!
@Kumar And like I said above, I don't dare to explain the workaround. Since I don't want to be blame if somebody might get banned cause my workaround. I only give you hints: since Elden Ring is DX12 game, you may try to using Reshade 4.3 - 4.7 framework (Reshade 4.2 or older not supported DX12 mode).
This is a beautiful preset but it does make my game slightly laggy and stutter more than usual. It’s not the author fault that this game is literally stuttering ring. I think ignore the fps drops because the game has never looked better.
Ya know, I came here and mentioned before how I usually ignore ReShade presets. I was, despite this, intrigued by this shader, and I was not at all disappointed. In fact, my expectations, no matter how high, were blown away by how stunning the work on display here.
It truly is a level above anything I've seen before with regards to ReShade.
Absolute magnificence.
It manages to maintain the overall feel and vibe of the vanilla presentation and color palette while at the same time making it look like I'm living in this fantasy world.
Just WOW! This, my fellow Tarnished, is how ReShade should be done! You have certainly sought to raise the bar my friend, and you have succeeded. Kudos to you!
Like has been said in other comments, I also have an eye for good reshades, most of them are absolutely terrible. but this one, is an exception. I don't know what or how you did what you did with the Elden Ring.fx file, but it basically rivals Raytracing. This reshade preset plus a little tweak for my personal preference by adding ADOF, is the best reshade preset I've come across. Almost rivals an ENB.
I've been modding games (not making mods, but doing mod builds) for around 15 years now, starting back with Oblivion. So, I've become extraordinarily jaded to ReShade presets, like to the point of basically ignoring them 99% of the time.
But this one caught my eye immediately. Seems like very, VERY high quality work, not just a set of overused staple effects slapped together with a few value adjustments and left to blind me with over-saturated colors and crushed blacks and then called a "Preset". But instead the fine work of what appears to be a meticulous and talented eye with a penchant for quality over quantity.
Well, enough gushing I suppose. I'm very excited to try this out, and feel honestly privileged that you've released it for free for us to enjoy.

yeah, I have just removed it for VR supported. Since now it only can support native 3D screen only. not a virtual one.
I don't recommended you to use this for playing online.
