So I love the look of the 'less blue' preset, but I also want brighter nights. Any way to combine the two? or is the brighter nights adjustment already incorporated in this preset?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I can combine brighter nights and less blue into one preset. Pretty much just have to change how dark shadows are allowed to go. I will need a few days to test out how it looks in all times of day etc.
Update to reshade preset: Few fine tweaks to sharpening and white-tones. Made sure it works fine with Reshade 5.2.2. Pretty much the same as 5.0.2 version but its there for those who want to try it
If you think the look of a 2000's blockbuster flick is natural, then yea, you got it! ? It's really frickin' blue, making the original look more natural. - The original only needs a little less warmth to be more neutral white.
Might be that we have different calibrated monitors as well as taste; i have made this based upon my preference and setup. If this preset isn't for you just pick one of the many others on Nexusmods. In any case thanks for your feedback
Happy to hear you enjoying my preset and thank you for linking the youtube video; it looks great and indeed the FPS hit isn't bad.
I first went heavy on bloom and hdr effects when I started to tweak around with a preset but narrowed it down to those 4 that are now present in the preset i've uploaded, found it best for visual & performance.
Will Vortex install the mod in the correct place or does it have to be done manually? Not real computer savy and dont really want to start playing with the game files. Vortex has worked great for me with fallout 4 and hope it can do the same with DL2.
I'm sorry but no. As with most enb's and shaders it's done manually. The Reshade base is open source but I'm not allowed to upload any of their shader textures etc. I can only customize & upload a preset based on the creators of the shader base. That is why you have to install the shader software from the site "Reshade.me". If you step-by-step the install info you should not run into any errors, but if you don't want to or feel comfortable that is fine. What i can do is upload a how-to video, might be easier to consume
Ran the installer with no problems. vortex handled the brighter nights mod with no problem that i can tell. i checked everything on each page with the installer. when I open the menu there are so many options I dont know what to choose..lol. do they have an explanation of what each one does? I dont want to click on one and have it enable if its not what i want. the game already looks a lot better without that yellow tinge everywhere. thanks for your efforts and a great mod.
You shouldn't have to enable anything in game if you added the"Reshade", "ReshadePreset" or "Dyinglight_brighter". The intended effects will be active, no need to add effects, not unless you want to make your own tweaks that is.
When you hit "home" key there should be 4 effects active (4 boxes with checkmark); "cinematic_lut, lightroom, sharpcontrast & monocular cues" - that is it, those effects contain my values that have been customized, that is the preset.
All the way at the top ,in the hud menu, it should say either "ReshadePreset", "DyingLight2" or DyingLight2_brighter" - depending on which mod you download. You can change presets while playing the game by hitting the right or left arrow in the hud menu where it says "ReshadePreset".
I will make a tutorial video to reassure, i know it can be confusing.
all of the options are not active that I mentioned. there are so many options is what I was refering to. its a bit much. to clarify, all the packages you said to select upon installation. do they have a description if I click on one? I havent clicked on any of them yet, didnt want to mess anything up. not sure if i will even attempt anything more as it looks great as is.
The images look great - I think this may be the no-yellow-tint mod for me :)
I can't get the effect to toggle on and off using the arrow up key though. I wonder if the keyboard control needs some of the stuff mentioned in the instructions: "Choose DirectX 10/11/12 option -> select all packages when installer ask, don't need all options but handy for potential tweaking later."
I did not select any packages there, since all I want is YTBG. YTBG appears and is selectable when I call up the Reshade menu with the Home key. Are some of those packages necessary to make the controlling keys or other aspect of the mod work?
did you add the add the configuration file called "Reshade" as well? that is the ini file controlling keybinds i've made.
You need to install more packages to be able to use my config as intended, such as lightroom, monocular cues and contrastsharpness, or the shader preset will not function as intended. Easiest way is just to install all packages, it barely takes up any space and will not get in the way or impact performance.
Thank you for bringing this up, I now get that the line "select all packages when installer ask, don't need all options but handy for potential tweaking later" - can be confusing. I'll update the install info & sorry for any confusion my install info contained.
I had all the files from your mod, and the on/off toggle was working as such, just not the fx itself. However, I have now installed the complete set of shaders - I can live with a 40MB shader folder, no problem. Then I copied across your files afresh, and it works! :)
All four shaders shave off ca. 5 fps on my RX 6600 XT. However, I ended up using only prod80_02_Cinetools_LUT and qUINT_Lightroom, which does what I'm after, the main YTBG, at a cost of no more than 2 fps (I'm at around 80-90 fps outdoors).
This was my first foray into the wonders of Reshade, and I get it now. It was cleaner and less intrusive than I thought.
Thank you very much for the tasty mod and the help, and even more for kicking my arse into Reshade land - I can now start exploring Reshade and all it can do on my own, which is very cool :-D
That is awesome! Nice to see it didn't tank your fps too much either. Thank you for sharing your experience and linking the mod in your youtube video, much appreciated. Enjoy

Update 2: Yellow Tint Be Gone updated to 5.3.0 as well
Big thanks to YouTube user "Some One Else" for notifying me about the borked presets
5 series Reshade repository in case the main reshade download has updated beyond the version i've configured this preset to work with.

Tip: If you hit "home" key and disable "sharpcontrast" & "monocular cues" you might save a few fps at the loss of some image sharpness/detail.
Thank you for giving my preset a go and have fun
