The flashlight will appear on at all times.  The mod seems to be a VISUAL EFFECT ONLY.  For gameplay purposes, it seems that you are still  able to toggle flashlight  on and off.  So I think enemy AI will not see light unless you actually turn on the game flashlight as you would normally do.  I have not tested this thoroughly enough yet.

This is nice, but humans literally react to flashlights during stealth. Not being able to turn it off can be a big issue. Still, I appreciate your work.

I always hoped for a similar mod, I always thought the flashlight in the game vanila had too much contrast, it was horrible, but I still have feedback to make this mod perfect.
You could remove the "texture" that is in the middle of the flashlight, forming this "circle" without gradient, leaving the light image without these "marks" of the flashlight glass, leaving the light more natural with the smooth gradient.
I don't know if it's possible to remove or reduce this effect, but if it is, it would be amazing, of course, you need to fix the bug of not being able to turn off the flashlight.
But anyway, thanks, one of the best mods for DL2!

You can download a  free program like WinRaR or 7-zip to open files.

the flashlight shadows make this mod essential for someone that notices detail... butttt the fact that you can't toggle it makes it unusable.
does anyone know how to uninstall this mod? i replaced varlist game in the script folder and if i remove it my game won't start.
is there another way to uninstall without verifying game files?
