Excellent Reshade. Really changes the atmosphere of the game, a lot more bleak and zombie apocalypse. What the game should have been before they went full oversaturated Lego mode.
Side note, if anyone uses the “MODULAR” Post Processing Effects mod - instead of the All in One version - that is linked to this Reshade, you must remove the CA effect AND the Barrel Distortion effect. Otherwise it interferes with Reshades AdaptiveFog and creates a shadowy offset around the edges of objects.
Thanks! And I agree. Techland had a much cooler look before. I wonder why they opted for a more vibrant aesthetic?
As for the Barrel Distortion effect, you're actually kind of right! I think the mod author got his description backwards: "There is a modular version in the download section, just remove the corresponding data file with it's readme for effects you don't want." What I think he meant to say was: "...just ADD the corresponding data file with its readme for effects you don't want." For example, adding datapak4 from his modular version fixes the issue with AdaptiveFog...meaning that it wasn't CA but Barrel Effect Distortion that was causing the offset issue.
I ran a few tests to verify that I'm not losing it, lol. On a clean install, I tested the mod "No Post Process Effects - Modular" by adding ONLY the Barrel Effect datapak(which REMOVES those effects) and AdaptiveFog worked perfectly. Then I removed the Barrel Effect datapak and installed only the Chromatic Aberration datapak and the weird offset appeared. So the files that I know for a fact will clear up the AdaptiveFog conflict is the AIO version of his mod and the Barrel Lens Distortion datapak4.
Confusing? Maybe not for anyone else but it clearly baffled me, lol. I'll update the description. Thanks again! :)
Hey everyone! I obviously haven't really been monitoring the comments for this in some time but if any of you are having issues with installing, it's user error, since I just reinstalled it with the exact same install process as when I originally posted these presets in 2022 and it works fine. Just to answer a few questions I've seen since I last checked in:
@purpledigimon - Check your depth buffer settings in ReShade. You might have to experiment with the values to get it working.
@TheHunterAwaits - Yes, you can use raytracing. I do and it's glorious. If your PC can handle it, absolutely switch it on.
@JoblinY - Nothing I can do about the trees. It's something to do with AdaptiveFog. They're gonna look aliased like that. You get used to it. If anyone figures out how to get it to look right without disabling AdaptiveFog, please share it here :)
Alright, good hunting, stalkers! Er...whatever they say in Villedor.
Adding Datapak4 with the txt file from the modular pack does not help. it makes it worse. I get no visiuals when starting the game, other than some ui elements and the menu
Can somebody help me, because when I open Reshade, selected dying light 2 exe launcher, picked Dirext 9/10/11, then I selected BadlandNatural.ini, finished downloading, THEN launched my Dying Light 2 and started my save file and nothing happened. It still looks very bright and colerful and I tried to use the Badland reshade hotkeys, but it still doesn't work. SO PLEASE HELP ME!! PS: I'm using Dying light 2 version 1.15.2. EDIT: Okay, nevermind I fixed it and looks nice.
Awesome reshade, but even at 1440p the trees look jagged and weird. Anyone know a fix without disabling the fog? it's pretty important for the look of this reshade.
Dunno what to tell you, man. Never had this problem. Even an incorrect Reshade install won't prevent a game from starting. Did you delete everything pertaining to ReShade? If so, there's just no way Reshade could interfere with the game function.
Wanted to tell you you're a bloody saint for listing the shaders used. I can't stand how many people don't care to tell people that, or worse, just tell everyone to download all of them or even bundles them with their reshade. Unfortunately I'm gonna have this as an option with a few others so I'm gonna have to download more than I need anyway. Either way, keep fighting the good fight.
Btw, realized I've used your Elden Ring reshade too. I'm pretty picky about my reshades, so you're definitely a boss if I like two of yours haha.

also still using this reshade - the best!
cheers
Please help me, tried w/ and w/o nppe mod, different settings
UPD: Found that this is because of Generic Depth ON
But with OFF option it does not work correctly, it shows white screen because of fog
