    Seems that using mods in Dyinglight2 is over since more and more players save files are screwed up with the patch that arrived recently. As for me, I lost all my inventory and schematics yes everything. I had to remove all mods and rollback the savefile to make it working again. They also blocked legendary xp.

    FYI: This mod appears to crash the latest DL2 1.04c update now. According to my testing which I isolated my various mods.

    A few other mods also crash it.

    I've couple this with Improved Dismembership and gore Mod_vaxis and sheeit goes everywhere.

    Thank you! the game is more enjoyable for sure. One thing i'm not a fan of though is the small growing blood pools that appear with blunt weapons. otherwise it would be perfect

    Tbh i think the blood pools showing up w blunt weapons doesnt make much sense and is very glitchy as theyll also just show up on walls and then you have this big red cancer cell on the wall, i think if you just leave everything as is but remove the blood pools it would be perfect, or if theres a way i can remove the blood pools id appreciate some guidance as i dont expect you to remake the mod just for what i like otherwise great mod, blunt weapon gore was pitiful

    Hey there, great mod, hopefully we can improve the blood and gore system with regards to the decals to match the effects as it's definitely a bit tame in that regard.

    I don't know if this will help, but I've been tinkering with the game and I've found what seems to be the definitions for the m_ShowDuration, m_HideDuration and m_LifeTime settings of the decals in presets/blood_decal.pre. The problem is, changing them doesn't seem to impact the game and I can't get it to pickup the changes in-game.

    I've done some testing and pretty much all blood decals have a standard lifetime of around 60 seconds so I don't know if this is leftover from an old system. I'll keep digging but you'd think in 2022 they could do a bit better with this given how violent the game is supposed to be.

    Oh, as an aside, in ai/damagemodel/gibs_manager_params.scr there's a setting to control how long gib pieces stay around. It's 30 seconds by default.

    Fingers crossed we can crack this as the game would be so much more fun with a smorgasbord of blood and gore!

    Do you plan to improve the mod even further?

    Maybe many more blood splatter for slasher weapons like blades? Would be awesome!

      changed some stuff for the blunt weapons. 

      right now i dont like the behavior of sharp weapons, still testing/playing around

      You mean how your mod / your blood decals react to those weapons / how it looks with those weapons?.

      But you NEED to find a solution for sharp weapons blood decals. It looks just wrong when blunt weapons spawn such great blood splatters and sharp weapons do "nothing" :).

      Take your time I'm just hyped :).
      Even without this...now the pc version is almost sooo much better than the console ones already cause of this (and other) mods!

      this - i added meanwhile some blood puddles to the sharp hits. even some more smaller than the blunt has. the decal behavior is pretty strange, because they arent constant, and often way too stretched

      But I have to say after testing 0.2.1:

      I really hate that you removed the stretched decals caused by blades hitting the enemies :(

      I think it gave the blade weapons an own identiy in some ways. And it looked more realistic.


      I like the decals you added in and I like that they are smaller than the blunt ones. Looks very realistic since your cutting through not smashing with blade weapons. But you said there more than with a Blunt weapon but there is less decals than with a blunt weapon in my game at least Oo. And you should increace the stretched ones a little bit further caused by blade weapons not removing them I guess + combine that with the ones you added now.
      This would be a good mix of all! I really like the stretched ones caused by blade weapons in the vanilla game. You really don't like them?

      What do you think about that?

      Sry about telling you i like the stretched blood decals very much...I know you put energy in it to remove it :(. But in my opinion it was the wrong decision :(.
      But I do like the extra little blood decals you added in. Both togeher would be perfect :)

      PS: I didn't testet the blunt weapons again cause I don't have one right now lol :)
      PS: I found a blunt weapon (yes I'm a noob in this game still). And I really have to say: Killing enemies with a blunt weapon is so much more fun compare to a blade weapon because the gore is so much more intense with this mod. The blade weapons didnt felt that sadisfining with that less blood now :(

      ich laber mal deutsch, weils fixer geht.

      ich hab keine vanilla decals entfernt. die normalen decals der scharfen waffen sollten auf jeden fall noch da sein. ich meinte damit, dass die "mod" decals, die auch für die stumpfen waffen genutzt werden, bei den scharfen waffen sehr fragwürdige resultate heraufbeschwören, deshalb habe ich diese noch nicht hinzugefügt und schaue noch, wie das machbar wäre.

      blood puddle sollten bei den scharfen waffen mehr sein, da ich sowohl normale als auch die der gibs hinzugefügt habe. wobei es natürlich sein kann, dass die gar nicht getriggert werden(?) - muss ich nochmal etwas rumschauen.

      edit: schaue aber nochmal eben rein, ob da was schiefgegangen ist

      Ja sieht so aus als ob die puddles noch nicht wirklich getriggert werden leider :(

      Aber ich weiss nicht warum aber die normalen "strechted" decals die im vanilla game sind tauchen bei mir nun gar nicht mehr auf. Irgendwas stimmt da wohl noch nicht.


      Aber danke das du soviel liebe in die mod steckst. Finde das feedback beim hitten der gegner is total wichtig und genauso das visuale feedback in sachen von blutspritzern was leider leider in teil 2 echt schlecht ausgefallen is :(. teil 1 war da besser.

      hab das erst mal rückgängig gemacht, weil ohne decals suckts. habe die scharfen waffen decals dezent vergrößert. gucke später mal noch weiter

      Also die etwas größeren splatter effekte von blades usw. funzt gut und triggert jetzt auch bei jedem schlag was cool ist. Aber jedes mal wenn ich jemanden trete entsteht jetzt eine große blut puddle. Das soll bestimmt nicht so sein. Desweiteren entsteht keine blut puddle mehr unter den gliedmaßen oder köpfen die man abgetrent hat. Das war vorher glaub ich noch anders.

      Trotzdem schon coole version deines mods! Danke :)
      Perfekt wärs natürlich mit den normalen splatter effekten + deinen eigenen blut effekten dazu bei blades. Aber du machst das schon ;)

      sollte wieder normal funktionieren. beim treten entsteht wieder eine kleinere puddle. abgetrennte gliedmaßen lassen auch wieder puddles entstehen.

      edit: versuche später nochmal die custom decals zu den blades hinzuzufügen :p

      Bei den Blunt waffen sind aber noch alle verschiedenen blut decals die du in den versionen davor hattest enthalten oder? Irgendwie wirkte die vorherige Version mehr abwechslungsreich mit den Blunt weapon decals. Oder ich bilde mir das jetzt nur ein Oo

    Hi! Possibility of just let blood decals stay longer (for all weapons) but with the vanilla puddles? Maybe using just ai_decals.scr file? Thanks!
