Mod Information

Based on my "Spectrum Flashlight Mod", which only offers changing the color of the flashlight beam, I've completely
altered how the mod functions, reconfigured it and greatly expanded its features. This "Flashlight Control Mod" now offers
customization of nearly all attributes on the flashlight and UV flashlight.

Customization of flashlight attributes is done via the customization files that this mod includes, which can be quickly
and easily altered to choose from a range of pre-configured settings for multiple flashlight and UV flashlight attributes.
These settings can also be configured for the easy/normal, hard and nightmare game difficulty modes separately.

The pre-configured settings offered for attributes range from values that can make the game less of a challenge for
some players, to also offering attribute values that can make the game much more challenging for others.

In addition to normal raising and lowering of attributes on flashlight properties, I've also configured special options
that cause the flashlight and UV flashlight to function in ways different from how they normally do to allow for alternate
ways of playing the game to open up.

One such special option is the 'Just A Peek' option that only allows the flashlight to be used for up to 3 seconds every
10 seconds just to catch a glimpse of the surroundings. If all the seconds are burned up at once then the flashlight
will be unusable for 10 seconds while it recharges.

Another special option is the 'Dead Is Dead' configuration which causes the flashlight to only have a single, limited
charge for the entire play session. If a player is not mindful of their flashlight usage and if they rely too much on it,
they may find themselves left in the dark but not at all alone.

These special options can encourage a player to be less reliant on the flashlight, which can cause more suspenseful
and hectic gameplay during night time roaming due to more time spent in total darkness and less awareness of their
surroundings. It can also encourage use of alternate sources of light and can liven up gameplay if experienced players
have found it to become somewhat stale and are looking to play the game in a different way.

About the "Dead Is Dead" special option

One special option available in the mod that can greatly increase the challenge of the game is the ability to set
the flashlight and/or UV flashlight to only possess a single charge for the entire play session or until another map
area is loaded.

How long this charge lasts for can be selected from and ranges from mere minutes of use up to an hour of use.
This wide range of options allows players to be able to choose what level of challenge they want added based
on how long their play session may last for.

As the flashlight gets used, the charge will decrease until it is completely drained. If/when the flashlight is fully
drained, it will be useless for the rest of the play session on that map or until you load into a different area.

This power management aspect can lessen the reliance on the flashlight at night time, especially as there is no
power meter to pay attention to for the basic flashlight and one must keep a mental note of how long it has been
used and how long it may have left.

If one is not mindful and leaves it on even when it is not absolutely needed, one might find themselves stranded
in the dark far from safety and also far from being alone. This can add an element of suspense to roaming Harran
during night time. It can also cause some players to instead look to use flares more often than they otherwise might
and also to rely on other sources of light in order to conserve battery power.
