Version 1.1a - Data3.pak file has been updated to work with new versions of Dying Light. I recently came back to the game and saw my mod no longer worked. Techland changed how the Data3.pak is read by the game while I was gone, and this version simply changes how it's structured so it now works!

I also extracted the most recent inventory.scr file from the game and just used my same edits onto it so it shouldn't cause problems with all the new stuff they've added.

Fun things to try: Jump attack to split enemies down the middle! Power attack zombie heads and laugh as you tear it from their shoulders with a single strike!

What this mod does (See Videos Tab)

This mod empowers your hand to hand abilities by replacing your default fist, changing the animations to that of a much more primal nature. You can now tear zombies in half effortlessly in extreme visceral detail (see videos) Do note that this mod requires ownership of Dying Light: The Following DLC as it's using assets introduced from the expansion. This mod WILL work fine in Harran, just as long as you own the actual expansion.

Simply get out your bare fists (unequip an active slot ingame) and get to rip & tearing! Try power attacks out too - they're very satisfying!

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER
================================================================

Please note that as of a week prior to Dying Light: The Following, Techland has enabled VAC. Techland also failed to give anyone any proper information regarding the actual machinactions and inner workings of their implementation of VAC.

On Feb. 15th, Valve stepped in to undo a plethora of false VAC bans caused due to Techland's incompetence. A quote from Valve employee ChadW reads as follows...

"You will not receive a VAC ban unless you are in a multiplayer session that stated it was VAC secured when you joined and offline/single player sessions are not VAC secured. We are working with Techland to get clear messaging included into the game.

If you have questions about mods and the Workshop please contact Techland."

This means that even if you're running .pak mods which already make it so you can't play online with other people that don't have the SAME exact .pak files, you risk getting VAC banned. VAC Secure being off should be safe, but I personally refuse to risk it. ChadW's post states that running in Singleplayer (found under Online Options) is definitely safe, and I've not been VAC banned from my own mod as of 2/18/2016.

Regardless, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU SOMEHOW GET VAC BANNED AS A RESULT OF RUNNING MY MOD.

UPDATE: As of 3/1/2016, I'm still not VAC banned. As ChadW from Valve stated, running your game in Singleplayer mode under Online Options will make you completely safe as far as .pak mods go. Just remember you might be putting yourself at VAC risk if you change your Online options.

Installation Instructions:

If you're not running any mods, simply place data3.pak into Steam\steamapps\common\Dying Light\DW and play the game as normal. Make sure Singleplayer is set under your Options > Online section too.

If you already are running mods, extract the contents of my custom data3.pak file onto your desktop. Then, open up your EXISTING data3.pak with a program of your choice. Drag and drop the extracted contents of my .pak file into your existing data3.pak and it should merge them.

If you have a mod that already modifies the inventory.scr file, there WILL be a mod conflict and my mod will take the priority.
