There seems to be a bug where you can't hit/damage anything. My weapon goes through the zombies like they're ghosts, is there anyway to fix this?

Hello. I've been putting up your mod for a long time. now I decided to restore the game and kill the zombies again. When I installed it, I was faced with the problem of not being able to create the first first aid kit. Writes that you need a skill and these characters < >
Okay, having just passed the first piece of the tutorial without the mod. Then I had a surprise waiting for me... Once out of the tower, I can't beat the zombies. The blows don't seem to pass... What's the matter? Steam license

    Hey guys!

For anyone wanting to be able to play with this mod without 1st: Runner Zombies all around and 2nd: that bug that let u not craft stuff like medkits, you would have to delete not only

1st: the AI>Zombie folder, but the presets>HumanAi.pre file (not even sure deleting the Ai>Zombie folder is any useful actually).
    2nd: the skills>default_levels.xml file.

I don't quite know at what other cost this comes, but that let you have your normal zombiz spawns and let u craft stuff ok (along with most other features mentionned on the front page that, I guess, are not related with ai stuff like the weather system, encounters, etc.) Character damage, fall damage and such things may not apply though, as a consequence.

I have uploaded a file which makes only some basic changes to the game so far, from a copy of one of the files in this mod. This can be found here:
    https://www.nexusmods.com/dyinglight/mods/543

Most people probably already know how to do this, i just uploaded for those that don't or don't want to know.

In future I will be uploading the rest of the mod in a new modpage when i find time.

I am re-making this mod with some updated parts from other mods, such as weather, effects, scripts.

So far i have everything complete except the Zombie AI, as it's outdated and all needs to be done again from scratch which is the biggest part.

Alternatively, if anyone wants this mod from the author in it's current state, it should work with the game, just delete the AI>Zombies folder and everything else works fine.

The only downside to this, ofcourse is you lose the "All zombies being runners" thing, but there's another mod for that which is compatible with this mod called 28 hours later. I use it and it works fine with this.

When i finish the re-make i'll upload on nexus with credit to this author who has vanished.

That is good, but what do you mean by  "if anyone wants this mod from the author"? Are you not the autor?

("downside to this, ofcourse is you lose the "All zombies being runners" thing." I think you can select specifically what you want to modify on the Data3 files with notepad. The autor of this mod even left a tutorial in videos.) I just read that it is really difficult to change.

And thank you for doing this! I would really like to try this mod without getting constantly assaulted from runners.

I kind of like the detection range. (You are standing up quietly  on top of a building zombies that are not even looking at you break into a sprint.).

I mean a more realistic mod. Scarcer ammo, Better guns, I liked the shop value change of this mod (Haven't tested it yet stuck in the beginning), More realistic damage like in metro (Where you take more damage and so does the zombies so it is more skilled based.). But every mod tends to go to extremes: Too easy or too hard. Infinite durability or 1HP.

A remake of this mod for the latest version would be amazing...

    After spending a while trying to mess with this mod (im not a beginner to modding) i've come to the conclusions this mod is;

    a) outdated (Doesn't carry across several changes/updates since newer versions (unlikely to be updated...)
    b) really difficult to remove the regular zombies all being set to virals (REALLY bloody annoying, some would say game-breaking) [Using methods posted in this commens section seem to break several aspects of the mod]

If anyone finds a way to update and fix this with the no-virals i think it'd be an amazing mod for 2020 Dying Light, but at the moment it's just not worth it...

Agree man. I love a good challenge but this s*** is ridiculous and I'm very familiar with the game mechanics after 2 playthoughs. Zombies are all viral basically and hear you when you don't even move, can't leave a safe zone without zombies from miles away running at you. Simply breaks the game at the start, with no option but to run, complete objective in a scramble, die and repeat. No point in trying to be tactical when stealth mechanics count for shit.

ok so i might (MIGHT) have come up with a simple fix to get rid of every zombie spawning as a fast zombie.. i dont know exactly why everyone is getting different results with this, but im guessing its because they edited the mod files *after* they were installed to the game folder, so when people started deleting mod files that overwrote the base game, it left nothing to take their place. anyways. basically, everything else in the mod remains the same (i think), you get slow zombies that still have their animations from a distance and you get fast zombies that are triggered when you get too loud. they do still seem a bit more easily triggered, which i enjoy, but i still havent done enough testing to determine if what i did broke all of the triggers that the mod promised (ex: being wounded and bleeding might trigger them, but its hard to say.) and sometimes you will hear the sound of fast zombies yelling in the distance continually. and breaking down doors. it can be annoying but it usually stops after a few minutes or i leave the immediate area.

      Here's what you do.
download the ultimate survivor version of the mod.
open it with 7-zip (or whatever software you use)
      go into the DW folder
      go into Data3.pak
delete the presets folder containing HumanAI.pre

others have done this and claimed that it has broken zombie animations and caused other weirdness. this is true. it will do that IF you overwrite the original files before deleting this. why? I have no idea. all you need to do is verify your game files via steam under game properties and local files, and then reinstall without the preset, and you should be good. again. everything else, from the fall damage, to weapon durability, to human enemies, etc SEEMS to be working okay. but i have only tested this for about 4 hours or so and havent had a chance to get through the whole story with the mod. hopefully this helps someone.

EDIT: i tore through the zombie and infected folder and it didnt change a damn thing. idk why but it didnt. you can leave that folder alone and just delete the *preset* folder all together.

It may be many months later, but thanks for the tip! I wanted a survival game for co-op that was a little more difficult and I'm glad I could get this mod to work :)
