So far I have no ideas how to call the character perform Rearmament from a mod (if someone or anyone have that, please DM me) ... but ...
Just curious if someone is interested if I made a 3-Key version having an up to triple press to select weapons. a.k.a. make use to the ABXY, 3 for selecting weapons, and 1 to perform Rearmament by making a shift mode on steam input like the following.
I have set LT to trigger mode shift and the odd combination of LB + NumKey is just to prevent the in-game UI keep swapping between Keyboard and gamepad
is short:
I am now keep pressing LT, then pressing X Y B to select between weapons X for 1/2/3 Y for 4/5/6 B for 7/8/9
press A to perform Rearmament then release LT
also which layout is preferred? 1/2/3 = key 1 4/5/6 = key 2 7/8/9 = key 3
or
1/4/7 = key 1 2/5/8 = key 2 3/6/9 = key 3
3-Keys version has been uploaded with both layout supported.
EDIT: NNNNNeeevermind. I was expecting that when I pressed the weapon hotkeys that the game would immediately switch to that weapon. It didn't compute that I had to press the weapon I wanted and THEN use the rearmament skill to effect the weapon switch. >.< If you can figure out a way to make the hotkeys not only set the next weapon but also trigger the rearmament skill, that would probably be a lot more intuitive.
--------------------------- Original Post: I've installed the 9-key version (M&K user), but while both the dash and hold-to-reverse methods work, I can't get the direct hotkeys to work. I was seeing the same issue that PrimaUndine described.
Since I originally had the regular version of the mod installed, I followed PrimaUndine's instructions below and deleted the Reversible_Rearmament.json file. Additionally, I had to delete the Hotkeys_data.json file as well.
Once I did that, I was able to bind the keys that I want, but the only keybind that does anything is the one for hold-to-reverse. The buttons I set to switch directly to my other weapons (I have 4 equipped) do nothing at all. I know that the game IS seeing me press them though, because REFramework will highlight any line when you press its corresponding keybind.
I can't seem to hotkey anything other than Weapon 1 when using the 9key version. In fact, I'm only getting entries for Hold to Reverse, Weapon 1, and Weapon 2 under Script Generated UI. Can't even set a hotkey for 2.
I'm only trying to use 4 weapons, so I'm not sure if I need 9 for the mod to work properly.
Sorry I have no idea what your are asking, can you share a screenshot or something? The mod needs 3 or more weapons equipped to work. Here is the screenshot of mine with 8 weapons.
And the mod with 4 weapons equipped should look like this
You can see most hotkeys were modified not the default.
I figured out what the problem was and how to fix it! But just for posterity, I'll share a screenshot of the problem I was having anyways.
Only up to weapon 2 was showing up even though I had 4 weapons, and even then, I couldn't click on weapon 2 to assign a hotkey. I managed to fix this by going into Dragons Dogma 2\reframework\data folder and deleting the .json file generated by the base version of the mod so that the 9key settings could generate properly. Everything is working fine now on my end, and Warfarer is more smooth than ever.
press the hotkey to set the index, then you can release the hotkey and do a normal weapon switch (with-in the timeout period if you have enable it) the index is base on you equipped weapon setting (the number on the top right corner of you equipped weapons)

Any ideas?
