CHANGE LOG 1.1 - added 3 more textures from DD3. replaces 21 variants with DD2 and LotF rings Balderico kindly provided (with very minor edits) - all rings are truly unique now, no more metal/gem variants at all.
Hey so I don't know if you feel like swapping some icons around to make the rings fit with what they do in the original games, but it would be cool if you can find the time. For example the Ring of Triumph does exactly what Dark Souls' Ring of Favor and Protection does, but you're using that one's icon for a different ring. The rings next to each other are ones that would need to be swapped and I've also added the names in case that makes it easier for you. Thank you for the mod anyway, it makes the rings look a lot better!
This is amazing, BUT!! I wish the model of the rings could be more accurate to the actual "Dark Souls" theme stats. For example, I saw a Havel Ring. I expected it to be related to weight carrying, but it's "Reduced damage from attacks by 25%." It's like the models are just randomly replaced, no matter the ring type. The idea is excellent, but I feel something is not right.
You might have missed it being stated in the Description tab, but the rings are randomly placed. Lol
I'm not familiar with the rings of Dark Souls or Lords of the Fallen, so these are pretty much brand new rings to me. But I can definitely understand wanting them to feel accurately fitting.
Flynn's ring is used for the xp ring instead of the Brawn ring so its definetely going to be harder to get used to the icons if you had prior knowledge of what ring did what in DS. Just have to get used to it.
Great mod! I wanted to ask you, how can I modify the textures of this mod on my own? Personally, I would like to choose some specific rings that look like Dragons Dogma. Like this:
@pavelk One question.Is the file in question inside the: tex_ui01c00_05_iam.tex.760230703? Or is it just the screenshot.jpg? is a .dds file inside tex_ui01c00_05_iam.tex.760230703
@Antaris If I can make the changes, I will send it to pavelk. Most of the rings in this image are from Dark Souls 2. By the way...I noticed that some rings from Lords of the Fallen match the aesthetics of Dragons Dogma 2 well.
good find. you need tex. its a bit tricky tho, you need to manually edit columns in it since retool doesn't convert icon atlases properly and inclined to shift icons in the game otherwise.
you can just send me textures (better if with transparent background and no contours like you did here) with a source game mention, I will rotate/scale/add them instead of ones which fit dd2 less and add you as a co-author.
Sorry can I use your file header? I don't know how to edit these myself. Also, have you explained the process somewhere / or do you have a link to an explanation on how to edit UI textures correctly in this game? They appear washed out if it's not your "special" tex header which is probably what you were discussing here. Edit: Nevermind the header stuff, I copied from the original file. But information on how you edit these files would still be very welcome.
The added touch of Dark Souls 3 and Lords of the Fallen makes the Dragon's Dogma 2 rings look amazing. Between this set of rings and Owrocc's set of rings, which might be more in line for those interested in a "Vanilla Plus" kind of look, it's gonna be a tough choice for some people cause they both look so great. Thanks for your work on this.

I understand. I sent the edited file in your PV. It's a mix of rings from The Lord of The Fallen and Dark Souls 2.

They really look awsome and they fit well in DD2 IMO! Thank you very much for sharing them!
@pavelk
Thank you for your UI mods, you did it again, now also in DD2 :-)
Antaris, thank you! :3
