I cannot guarantee that this change will not cause FPS drops or crashes. I used Google Translate. Sorry if you can't read it.
God bless you!!! Finally a hero! Seems like the author's already gone :( Just to be clear, I'm copy and pasting, not cut and pasting right? So that code should be there twice in the file, yes?
Yes, I copied it. I believe the original copy process is executed when it is re-enabled. Since the content to be written remains the same, I decided that copying is fine.
Hi there. I'm still coming here to check. Still no update on fixing the Rings resetting upon every launch or game load? It would be nice if the settings saved so we don't have to uncheck/check the "Enable Effects" box and requip our rings every time we load the game. Thank you :)
Nice mode, i know someone else asking for this and there is mode where You can lower stagger from moobs... ...but please add Ring Of Resolution to this mode;)
As a thought, it would be amazing if there was an option to type in the value you wanted, rather than sliding it. As right now, sliding is kind of annoying and my OCD knaws away at me so hard when I hit 13 instead of 12. Also adding The Ring of Quickening would be amazing with a slider up to x10
What what? Ctrl+Click is how you edit it? That is kinda obscure, but if it works then it could save time. If only this mod didn't require deactivation and reactivation every single load to function.
Yes. Every single time. I did some tests. I've got the multiplier values set to x10. The Pak file version of the mod that gives x10 multipliers gives 1000 HP and SP with the Ring of Triumph (all my pawns wear one). If I switch over to this version of the mod and load up the game, the pawns only have 100 extra HP and SP. If I then deactivate and reactivate the mod, it goes up to 1000 (and they all have to heal the difference). If I then save the game, quit out to the main menu, exit the game and reload it.... keeping in mind they all had 1000 extra HP and SP when I saved... and I haven't changed the mod settings at all.... once I reload the characters, they're back at just 100 extra. They don't regain the full values until I deactivate and reactivate the mod.
Huh, definitely should be addressed then. Yeah, it would be nice if the settings would persist so you don't have to keep disabling/enabling them every time you launch the game. Hope the mod author can make it happen :)
Does not need reactivation. All you have to do is just change the value of the slider on each ring and then go to your inventory. Works every time for me. It won't take effect until you change the slider value on EACH RING YOU WANT AFFECTED, though. So keep that in mind.
Since you are such a clever fella, have you noticed the author of this mod saying again and again that YOU NEED to re-equip the rings for the values take effect?
I set the values and go into my playthrough, if its not taking effect I just equip and unequip and voila, the mod works. When I quit the game and launch on the next day, if the values I set previously are not working what *magic* I need to do to solve the issue????
Unequip and equip again and works every freaking time.
I do not recommend using this mod to change HP in your other pawns since you can't unequip and equip the rings again IF the changes are not taking effect. But the mod works pretty fine for my character and my main pawn and I only play with my main pawn alone because of XP bonus that you have if you are not recruiting other pawns. I use mods to increase the difficulty and this mod to fine tune things, so I don't do "pure cheating" with this mod alone.
If you need to play in a full party change other rings such Strength, Defense or Reduce Spellcasting time. I tested and works. The only problem is messing with HP.
No man, this is different issue. It's not about changing the values then requipping the rings. It's that the values that we ALREADY had saved, need to be renenabled every time we launch the game, even if we never changed any of the settings. His other mod, the .pak only version, didn't have this issue. It seems to be a script-related issue where the settings aren't "Saving". Other mods that use Scripts and .lua all have settings, and they get saved. Sometimes it doesn't and we report it to the author and then they fix it. We're hoping this author can fix this too so that we don't have to reenable the settings every time we launch or load the game for our rings to take effect.
If this is happening with so many people using this mod, the author needs to check it and fix it (or someone else with more sense/knowledge who is not in vacation and wants to help the users).
Also, more rings and the option to affect only you and not your pawns would be a welcome addition. But for some reason the author of this mod is absent... Shame.
Sorry for my last comment. If the problem you guys are having had nothing to do with what I said, I sincerely apologize.
The real sad thing is that even the most potent of the Pak versions doesn't boost the Ring of Articulacy nearly enough. Only this version does, but this version has the flaw of needing to be reset every time. AND as noted before, I can't fix the Pak version myself because currently the only tool for doing that is an 010 editor addon, and 010 editor shareware with a limited trial period (that doesn't reset). So either we have slow spellcasting, or we have to reset this every time.
Oh, and I've also noticed this mod, upon deactivating and reactivating at the wrong time, can ruin the game's acknowledgement that I'm playing with a controller, so it forces the cursor and keyboard indicators to appear every time I stop controller input.
And in case anyone asks about the mods that make spellcasting faster directly rather than boosting the Ring of Articulacy.... I'm pretty sure those also boost bandit spellcasters.
Could you do me a favor and add 2 more rings in this mod? -Ring of Tenacity (boosts maximum Stamina). -Ring of Quickening (boosts Stamina Recovery Speed).
I know that we already have the Ring of Triumph, but that ring also boosts HP and I'm not found of that. I really want an option to boost only my stamina and stamina recovery rate. If you could do that for me I will be forever grateful.
Tree menu does not open properly (no settings there, swallows all other scripts underneath) and enabled boolean resets on every game start back do disabled. :-(
UPDATE: Yeah, I fixed it by re-enabling all script mods. Go figure...
Thanks for your great mod! Been enjoying this for a while. But I have to move the slider every single time I restart the game to make the mod take effect, don't know it's my own problem or intended to.
For clarity, when I boot up the game, the mod's tickbox is set to enabled, but with NONE of the effects. It doesn't matter if there are "changes in the values" or not. If I make it work, save the game, then exit out and reload the game, the ring's effects have vanished again.
To make it work, I have to disable it then re-enable it... preferably without clicking on any of the sliders, since that will ruin the whole thing and it becomes impossible to get the number back to 10 since the sliders increment weirdly... so if I happen to click the slider by mistake, I have to exit out of the game, manually edit the Settings file to reset it, then reboot the game AND disable and re-enable the mod just to make it work.... Baseline.
Honestly I'm just going back to the Pak version until this is fixed. It is far less trouble.

That is one problem out of the way.
