Correct. This mods changes different files entirely. The way this mod works is by taking the DropItems table of the user.2 file and changing every element to Saurian Tail. Previously, only 3 elements of the 12 elements list were Saurian Tail, while the rest were empty, making the default drop rate around 25% as it would only make the tail lootable if the random element that the game chose was not empty. After changing all elements to Saurian Tail, the drop rate is now 100%.
I'm considering doing the same for the Asp tails and adding them to this mod as, despite them not dropping the Saurian Tail item, they can still be looted for different drops and there are currently empty elements in the table, making them drop nothing sometimes.
Btw for anyone who's still using the PAK version of the drop mod, this mod works perfectly together. Thanks for this, now I get to consistently get my tails that I work for lol. Easy endorse, cheers!
I just finished my session after I replied that endorsement message. Idk if its your old mod doing the work but the ASP tails were also giving me saurian tails but not all the time. I dont think I want a new version that only gives me Scrags and Steaks lol sorry man but I think Ill stick with your initial release!
I think the ch221001 that I altered probably refers to another variant and those you killed are considered ch221 and always dropped tails like the regular ones but are dropping more now that it's 100%. I remember killing a specific type of Saurian that had a tail that only dropped Scrag of Beast and Beast-Steak so it's probably that one.
Hi there. I just published a version that makes non-regular Saurians (Asps and Lightning) also have their tail loot be Saurian Tail as opposed to Scrag of Beast and Beast-Steak. Thought you might want to know since I believe that was your desired behaviour :)
Can you add version which makes Saurian Tails drop from all types of Saurians ? Rock, Venom and Lightning ? In the late game Regular Saurians are rare and in Bahtal zone is very little of them. And exactly in the end game when you actually need Miracle Raborant is when you cant have enough of them. (me play on 2x receive damage 8x enemy HP)
Hey there. I'm not sure if I can make Rock Saurians (Rattlers), Lightning Saurians and Magma Saurians drop tails since you can't actually cut their tails off in the game, so there's no extra object that spawns when you do for looting.
What I can do for the Venom (Asp) is make their tails have the item Saurian Tail as loot instead of the default Beast-Steak and Scrag of Beast.
The game folder that holds the ch221droppartsuserdata.user and ch221001droppartsuserdata.user files only has those two, which are for Saurians and Asps respectively, so I don't think the other ones have tails that can be looted in-game. I could look into spawning them but it would require lua code and I'm not super familiar with the API yet.
EDIT: Just confirmed the Lightning ones actually can have their tail cut and they seem to drop the same as the Asps (Scrag of Beast and Beast-Steak, no Saurian Tail.) I'll look into changing the Asp drops and seeing if it affects them.

Still haven't figured out how to make the Rock and Magma Saurians' tails able to be cut, but I'll look into it some more and let you know if I figure something out.
Thank you so much for this fantastic mod. It is so simple and yet incredible that the developers dropped the ball on this. I think I killed about 250-300 saurians and only got about 40 tails... until now. Thanks again and kudos given.
They dropped the ball on a lot when it comes to rewarding the player's efforts. The chances of killing an enemy and it dropping air were 75% before the Higher Drop Rate mod was made, for example lol. But I'm glad it can help you enjoy the game more! You're welcome and thanks for the kudos :)
I suppose it can but why do you need it to be lua? I don't think it can conflict with anything since no mod I know messes with the Saurian drop parts userdata table.
Dropped the .zip in Fluffy Mod Manager\Games\DragonsDogma2 directory and it didn't work. Extracted the .zip in Fluffy Mod Manager\Games\DragonsDogma2 and it didn't work. Killed like 15 Saurians to be sure and couldn't loot tales confirming it didn't work. Other mods I'm running are FrameGen, Infinite Stamina Out Of Combat, and REFramework. Have tested other mods that use Fluffy Mod Manager and confirm they work normally.

Asps don't drop Saurian Tails by default.
I don't think it can conflict with anything since no mod I know messes with the Saurian drop parts userdata table.
Other users use it too.
It works.
Saying "Doesn't work" without any other context also doesn't help.
That's what I do and it works for me.
Asp Tails now drop Scrag of Beast 70% of the time and Beast-Steak 30% of the time.
No more empty drops!
