Looks like the reason this mod doesn't work is for the same reason as Community Compass Overhaul - the files are named wrong. If you see a file with a numbered suffix, it is meant to replace the file it is named after without the numbers. So either backup the original file, or delete it and rename the numbered file to its proper name and add the .tex file name at the end. For example: game_main>id>common>cate_icon>cate_icon_ID.241F5DEB should be renamed to cate_icon_ID.tex and the file currently occupied by that name should be replaced. You'll have to tediously go through and do it for every file you see with a numbered suffix.
Which brings me to my question. No offense to the mod authors who go out of their way to make the game better for everyone, but did anyone on the mod team even test the release version at all? Seems like a massive oversight.
No excuse. Either finish the project, or delete it from nexus so that people dont install a broken mod. I hate when modders discontinue a mod and then leave a broken mess behind. Its just lazy.
Yes, 8 years have passed and probably the way of modifying the game has changed. I remember it being a very tedious process, I did all the tests, at the time and the mod worked as it is. Unfortunately I don't have time to update it to today's standard.. If anyone wants to deal with it, feel free to and upload. I want to say, however, that no one paid me to make this mod and coming and spouting sentences seems ridiculous to me. Better to have a starting point and keep those files than delete the mod from the internet and condemned it to oblivion...that's why I left it as it is. Having said that, thanks for pointing out how to resolve the issue (that wasn't an issue at all back in the days) and I'm sorry for the inconvenience... as I said: 8 years ago, it worked well.
I used a 2016 version of it and all mods from around this time (which uses this weird extensions) worked fine, but when i tried a newer mod from 2023, i got an error when trying to launch the game.
After using a newer version of arctool and having to in fact change everything to .tex extension (from all older mods), the problem was solved.
vj88, i'm sorry you had to read through this lame feedbacks. There was no oversights, no poor release and definitely no excuses for being lazy and not notice that almost every other mod that needs merging uses the same extension.
Please, don't be rude in the comments by saying something is a broken mess and dare i say discontinued (despite the description), when in fact the game is not updated ever since 2017. As Dxvn said, this mod was made (8) years ago.
Thanks for the amazing mod and for coming back to stick this comment who helped solve a problem that was not caused by your. Also thanks, for keeping it up all these years and for giving permission for anyone to update it. Even if updating requires as little as changing a few letters in a file you probably took weeks modifying. You know users, we are just lazy... XD
Hey! So in order to install this mod I have to: 1 - manually change the name of some files and replace the original ones in the game folder (for both the full version and update) 2 - Merge the .arc files included in the full version of the mod
Those two steps are required or just the first one?
Hello! Please explain step by step: I downloaded 2 folders: HD-HP with HD BARS and CUSTOM ICONS and small update. What to do with the "Merge files" folder? Which folder will it be combined with, in which directory should it be placed?
I don't use this model because the HP / Energy bar isn't well cut and you can see there's a missing no transparent part on the left, tiny yet annoying.
Having issues with merging this mod. I have merged (using Arc Tool and WinMerge) Easy Clothing ID, Great sword Max and HD HP. Both clothing id and great sword max work but not the HD HP. So I know I did everything right and this mod just wont work.
How did you install it? I cant seem to be able to install it. I don't have the DD file. If I'll just drag and paste it to the directory it will override the other mods.
Your interpretation of the diamond/"other" icon is strange, but I'm letting it slide since this is a pretty stellar visual upgrade otherwise lol. If you still read these comments, thanks so much!
It's actually: "This mod increases " HP (exp and gold too) numbers ", bars, minimap markers and icons TEXTURES QUALITY !!! " Sorry about that... I thought it was clear...
for those who cant install properly: 1) RTFM about Arctool and how to merge mods with game_main.arc (or others .arc files from DD), or just check out 5m video aobut it on YT, its not hard at all. 2) if files in this mod's unpacked folders don't have same extensions as ones in unpacked game_maim.arc folders - change their extensions manually, otherwise u not overwriting proper UI textures, just adding new files with wrong extensions.

If you actually changed the stats, thanks but no thanks, stats changes get you soft-banned from Multiplayer.
I see no logical reason to change those values, considering the objective of this mod, I'm disappointed.
