You can find the latest version of ENBseries for Dragon's Dogma at this page on the ENBdev website. ENBseries for Dragon's Dogma
Current Notes Version 1.6 is the latest release. It was made for ENBseries 0.300. On newer versions of ENBseries, you'll probably see strange issues with dark shadows. This will be addressed in a future release.
If you're using a modern AMD GPU (5000 or 6000 series), using DXVK is recommended. If you're seeing a black screen on starting the game, try disabling in-game anti-aliasing and make sure HDR is set to High. If you feel the shadows are too dark, simply change EnableSkyLighting in enbseries.ini to false - that should brighten things up considerably. If the game is crashing on launch, make sure you've gone through the things you've got running in the background and disabled anything that could mess with the game's rendering. This includes things like Razer's overlay, Discord's overlay, and the Nvidia GeForce overlay. Not all are guaranteed to cause issues, but certain ones will and certain combinations definitely can.
For extra performance, you can disable SSAO from enbseries.ini. For even more, you can turn off depth of field in ENBseries, and to go even further beyond, disable skylighting in enbseries.ini. Note that, due to certain limitations, dithering is now tied to the depth of field setting. You can disable depth of field itself by changing the Technique to "Disabled" in the ENBseries menu.
Previous Notes Version 1.6 is now available! It contains some minor - and some not so minor - changes! Bloom has been revamped to look more subtle. Dithering has been revamped to not look like bizarro film grain if you look at it too close. And more! With all these changes, there's bound to be something that goes wrong somewhere, so remember to post if you encounter any issues. Version 1.5 is now available. It features changes across the board, mostly aimed at fixing the remaining over-brightness issues, with improvements to weather, lighting, and overall image quality. Indirect lighting has been enabled, and skylighting has been nerfed. There's a new version of ENBseries out - 0.300! It adds performance improvements to skylighting, fixes to the weather settings, and a high quality replacement for the game's depth of field. With it, I've uploaded a new version of Resonant. The biggest change is the use of ENBseries's ambient lighting modifiers, which can drastically change how the game looks. I've activated them for all weathers, although they're not completely tweaked out yet. Also in this release is brightness adaptation, which should fix the problems with areas being too bright or too dark. Furthermore, I've enabled ENB's depth of field replacement. This will give gameplay a smooth, camera-like depth of field effect - but only if you've re-enabled it in Dragon's Dogma's in-game options menu. Note that it has a high performance impact, so disable it from the game options if you encounter massive slowdown. Alternatively, you could use the update file, which will replace it with a faster alternative. Finally, SSAO has been toned down to fix a few bugs with certain areas getting smothered in darkness. If you're experiencing extra-long loading times, set the framerate limiter in the game settings to 60FPS. The dithering in ENB isn't the same as the one mentioned in the file description. By default, high precision rendering mode is activated. This can reduce performance! You can disable it from enblocal.ini for an extra boost, but it'll bring back banding! Other framerate hogs incluse ambient occlusion, and skylighting, which can be disabled from the in-game menu and enbseries.ini Enabled by default are detailed shadows. The latest revision of ENBseries contains a fix for flickering detailed shadows - please update if you have issues. ENB also adds an option to disable the game's palettes, which is enabled by default. I've seen no ill effects from leaving this activated for now, but if you see any areas with "wrong" colours, please post below. If you're using version 0.295 of ENBseries, please *update* - the new version contains a fix for the loading times! Make sure you update both the preset and the DLL. The "deferred rendering is disabled" message is a leftover from Skyrim, and safe to be ignored. No longer present as of 0.296.
Anyone else have hair become transparent under certain lighting conditions? for example, having the Lightning Boon applied will make it so I can see my character basically bald for parts of an attack, it's nothing gamebreaking but its really bothering me so I wanted to see if it was something I could deal with.
I think it says that overlay apps, such as afterburner, nvidia overlay, etc wont work or might even casue game to crash. I dont think there is a workaround for it
This and Wickfut's are the only Enb's that actually look good while exploring ,the color scheme is better in this cause it looks like the vanilla game, this runs better than Wickfut's also. Disabling SSAO with no visual drawbacks improves fps , a lot of stutter ,but I am guessing that is because of Dxvk.
TLDR: An enbseries.ini edit that looksbetter than turning SkyLighting completely off! Fixes the overly dark shadows and skin tones at night and under certain conditions during day time.
In the original mod there are some bugs where the characters skin will turn completely black because of Skylight settings, creator advises to turn off Skylight completely, but I found that tunning it is much better, as you still keep some of the visuals it enables while avoiding certain visual bugs. I also changed a couple of other parameters on other things, like eye adaptation I think was too strong, and volumetric rays as well, also fiddled with other values here and there to try and achieve a better contrast/brightness etc. Also disabled LensFlare as personally I hate it no matter the game :P (if ya want to turn it back on it's just at the top of the .ini file under "[EFFECT]")
Note, I'm playing on a full HDR TV, try to fiddle with brightness and gamma curve on your screen if you're not getting a good image. Look for the "[COLORCORRECTION]" in the .ini
Cheers!
PS: Even though some things are disabled in the .ini they still show up as enabled in the game, don't ask me why! So I left them as is.
Just leaving a comment here which I commented on the newest submitted bug regarding the weird shadow on lanterns:
I found a solution for the weird flashlight lighting thing. Scroll down in the enbseries panel and under "SHADOW" just disable "EnablePointLights" and the issue is gone. I also noticed a lantern on a wall nearby which had a weird and dark shadow overcasting its light which was returned to the normal vanilla lighting with the setting turned off as well. Additionally, disable "EnableDirectionalLight" also under "SHADOW" which sometimes turn on/off certain light sources that move offscreen when moving the camera around.
Seems like a problem with ENB itself and not with the preset, I guess.
got a lot of visual noise when a move the camera caused by the ssao, the denoiser doesnt help, how can i remove this visual movement noise while keeping ambient occlusionon?
Please help clarify, by mod files do you mean ALL of the contents of both the InjectorVersion and WrapperVersion folders? Copy just the d3d9.dll file first, and THEN the rest? Thank you.
@Xenstar add the d3d9.dll from the WrapperVersion. That's it from the ENB. Then download the contents of this mod and add all the files in the same place as dll, the game root folder.
I did this and the character still get very weird darkened skin tones when under a shadow. Does it specifically have to be ENB v0.300 or does any newer version suffice? I'll try again with the specific version and see if anything has changed.
EDIT: Yeah it 100% mattered that it had to come from ENB v0.300. It looks much better now, it's night and day. Thank you!
Any help on the mod making characters look black in shade? Seen multiple comments but never a response. Honestly thinking of deleting at this point since looks so silly. Just want to change how much it effects the characters in shade, thanks.
EDIT: Nevermind, I was just being a dumbass. You NEED to use the d3d9.dll file from ENB v0.300 specifically. It can't be from a newer or older version, needs to be exactly from that version.

After installing the mod my fps monitoring dont work anymore ingame, is there a fix or option for that?
