I didn't end up liking the mod after comparing screenshots with and without it, as whatever edits were made just blurred the textures.  A simple upscale would have been much better to preserve quality...  So I go to revert to the backup files, and there were only 70 out of 79 files in the backup folder, which causes my game to immediately crash whenever I try to play, quoting missing hair textures.  So now I'm stuck with using this mod, or I literally cannot play at all.  Bruh done me dirty on this one.

Here are some comparison pictures so you can see what I mean.  It is not a massive difference by any means, but it is certainly a downgrade.  Usually you'd want textures in your game to be crisp - hair isn't any different here.

Does anyone know how I can get the original files back?

So I just found out the same thing happened to me as well, so I am on steam and revalidated my game and got the files reinstalled.

edit: nevermind, broke all my mods in the game...

That's what I had to end up doing as well unfortunately, although luckily I'd copied a backup of my mods before I verified...  That stinks.  Hopefully you don't have too many mods to port back in again.

For anyone else who may read this, please make your own backups of the hair and beard files before downloading the mod as the backup files included here are incomplete, and will break your game.  If you haven't backed them up after downloading and would like to undo the hair mod, go into Steam game properties settings for Dragon's Dogma > Installed Files > "Verify integrity of game files", and it will restore all original files to normal.  But before you do this, you need to make a copy of your DDDA file under steamapps > common > DDDA, I recommend pasting it to your desktop and changing the name so you know that it's your modded folder.  And then once Steam is done verifying/restoring, simply copy and paste the restored hair and beard files into your modded folder, and replace the newly restored DDDA folder with the modded folder, rename back to DDDA and you will have undone the hair mod without deleting all of your other mods.

Originally I tried doing everything from nexus mods, and since then educated myself on mod merging, and did everything manually this time around.Which was easier just doing in manually.

    Notice:

This mod does not include a complete backup folder for the original hair and beard files.  If you try to undo the mod and use the included backup files, your game will crash upon loading, rendering you unable to play the game unless you continue to use this mod.

You can remedy this by verifying the integrity of your game files under Steam properties settings to get them back, but that will overwrite all of your other mods as well.  To avoid this, I've published the vanilla hair and beard file folders which you can download here instead.

    Happy gaming :)

I can't get these to load in my game. I replaced the files in DDDA\nativePC\rom\eq\hair. Am I doing something wrong?

Downloaded this and it gave me a file like this "DDDA - MEGAHAIR AND BEARDS 2K-467-1-01-1569634617".

I had to rename it and add ".rar" at the end of the file to be able to inzip it get
"DDDA - MEGAHAIR AND BEARDS 2k" folder and path as shown in the download file section.

this mod is mine, but I lost access to the account and I couldn't recover it, I also don't have the files on my computer anymore. I reiterate that it is an amateur modification, unfortunately it is not perfect and I have no idea what problems could possibly happen.
