So far I've been really enjoying this mod, but I've noticed that the D-Pad that shows up for the maps is weirdly stretched out and that the button prompts for the slime slot-machine weren't updated with the Playstation face buttons.

Would it be at all possible to look into this?

I can't get this to work. I put the .pak file in my Paks folder and nothing changed. The only other .paks in there are Data.pak and Data_P.pak. I also tried to install the joystick dialogue mod you recommended and that didn't work either.

Thank you for providing this detail. I regret to inform you, butyou own the Original (OG) version of Dragon Quest XI. However, this mod is not compatible with that version of the game. It is only compatible with the Definitive Edition (DE) release.

There's a lot of misinformation out there regarding the 2 versions of the game, but they are technically distinct. For more information, please see: https://sites.google.com/view/dqxi-commands/faqs/version-differences

You can find mods for the Original (OG) version at: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonquestxi

But please understand that your options for mods are much more limited on that version, as modding support improved greatly on Definitive Edition (DE).

Glad to hear it my guy! Enjoy!

(A side note about Vortex: AFAIK it *should* work with this and most mods. However, I know there's at least a few mods out there that do require manual install)

Hello, thank you for this great mod. I was wondering if it was possible for you to make a mod with the buttons of the Dualsense (PS5)? Have a nice day.

Screenshot your Paks folder (so I can see what's in it) and/or run the Mod Troubleshooting Tools (search it here on Nexus and follow the instructions)

Doesn't matter much, but the mod doesn't apply to the Slime Quest slot machines, namely the "Feeding Frenzy" part.

Thank you for this mod! I'm used to the Xbox layouts despite playing on a DualShock 4 because so many games don't consider it.

Only thing I noticed, at least for me, is the d-pad icon seems stretched horizontally a bit, on the screens that show it. Not sure if it's a known issue already, or if it can be fixed. It's quite minor.

I don't know if the game was recently updated, but this mod stopped working. It was working great before.

Damn, I hope not. Last I knew, mods were working for GamePass. I believe they recently pushed the changes to the main version, so you no longer need the preview. You might check our guide to make sure something else wasn't messed up. Any other mods you're using that might cause a conflict?

(I was literally about to pull up the Steam patch notes before I saw your post below and remembered that you're on MS Store xD )

My mistake, it actually is working. It just won't display the right buttons during the map screen, but that was already a known issue that I believe can't be fixed. Otherwise, it's working as intended!

Since Gamepass version supports modding now, any chance you could get this to work? All other .pak mods work fine, except I can't get DS4 buttons to display at all.

Really?? Mods work on Gamepass now!!!???

Edit: Well I have heard from East#2762 who also claims that they are able to install mods on GamePass.

Edit 2: But still others are saying that modding is still not working for them on MSStore... can you help us out??

My only guess at a variable here: are you running Windows 11? see below

0.0.4 is up and should work on MSStore / GamePass.

Update: It sounds like modding is only enabled for the Xbox Insider version right now, according to East#2762.

To do so: You must install the Xbox Insider Hub app (link above), on the 2nd tab click "Windows Gaming (Beta)"

Download the Xbox App preview, and within there you can change DQXI-S's install location and then install mods.
