Hello. Maybe it's just me, but I have a feeling that with the mod the character doesn't move as smoothly, as if with small, barely noticeable jerks. Configuration: 4070 super, Ryzen 5 7500f, 32 GB RAM, 2K monitor 180 Hz. Vsync enabled, fps around 130 (+-5)
With this mod in place, you will see a white bar at the bottom right of the loading screen, which is causing you to get a freezing error. Is it a problem to download with Vortex?
The download fails at 5.2gb every single time. Not sure what is going on but I have tried the mod manger and manually downloading. I have also tested my internet to see if that was the issue, it's not. Not sure what's going on here. Any ideas on how to fix this error?
Edit: It only seems to be an issue on the newest version. I just went back and installed the previous version with no issues.
Every so often, Nexus has some issue with CloudFlare or another of their CDN providers. You can sometimes check https://nexusmods.statuspage.io to see if there's a major site-wide issue. Or check their Discord, since that's usually where most reports come in.
Just a few days ago there was a site-wide outage for a few hours.
In any event, these things will typically smooth over within a day or two.
What would you consider a good gpu for this pack because just running the game modless on 4k with my 2070super already makes it use 80%+ and my temps hitting 75c-80c.
I'll say that your hardware should be able to handle this mod and most anything with Project Rebuild.
As for as your particular situation, it's hard to say as any # of things could be going on with your configuration. I don't know what your cooling is, whether you have other things running in the background, etc. (Nor do I want to know -- i'm not really here to troubleshoot hardware issues, sorry!)
I'll say that running a full 4k display resolution is pretty taxing, under any circumstance. You might consider setting your display resolution to 1440p or setting "Screen Percentage" in the settings menu (or 'r.ScreenPercentage' if using a custom ini) to 80. This will lighten the load on your GPU. Plus, you'll still get plenty of noticeable benefit to using 4K textures, Project Rebuild, etc.
Reducing stuff isn't really an option for me. I was just more curious on how much a bigger load the pack adds. For reference my rig is using a 9700k with 16 gig ram "either 2600-2800mghz I honestly forget what the number is" and my 2070 super is the Asus Turbo 1 fan blower fan card "hence my temp problems"
I am just guessing based on my performance in order to properly play all the mods on 4k 60fps properly you'd probably need a 2080ti bare minimum but I could be wrong.
Would you recommend installing this mod if the user will mainly be playing on the Steam Deck (OLED)? I have about 12 mods running that has significantly changed the game in terms of graphical fidelity vs that nightmare they wanted us to originally experience the game in. This would definitely be icing on the cake in terms of beauty.
The Steam Deck OLED has a resolution of 1280x800, so i'm not sure if you'd enjoy quite the full benefit of the 4k Textures, and there'd likely be at least a small performance hit. Plus, it's a fairly big mod (like 12GB or something after it's unpacked).
So personally, I don't think i'd recommend it to Steam Deck players. But there's no real harm in trying it out.
Already installed and implemented. Performs beautifully even with the other 12 mods it takes to transform this game outside of the original PS2 version. You can definitely notice the positive difference in many of the details even with the smaller resolution it provides. Frame rates took a very slight hit in bigger areas (35-40 fps), but I'm no fps junky on this with turn based rpg. I would tell those with Steam Decks to only implement if you have the OLED version with large storage (I have 2tbs internal/1tb sd card). It truly pops!
Thank you for taking the time to assist in making this an appropriate "definitive edition" of the game. It took a community, but damn did you all make this version shine beyond what my expectations would be.
I play on a 1440p monitor but I'm going to download this mod anyways. Will this mod "force" the game to render at 4K regardless of my monitors resolution? Or how does it work?

Deleting this file solved it for me
This may be due to a conflict with another mod.
Mod works fine, thank you.

Thanks :D
(And you'll still notice an improvement in the texture quality even on display resolutions well below 4k. I can tell even running at 1080p or 720p)
