It would be really really nice if we could also have darker hair and eyes (instead of only colors that, basically, a small to zero percentage of the real world population actually has). Or, idk, maybe there is already a mod but I have overlooked it?
I noticed that using the serena make up by itself results in a small red line between the face and her blonde hair that looks a little strange. Is it possible to have a version of the make up PAK that fades nicely into the original hair colour, as opposed to assuming her hair colour is now red?
Odd thing, so far in Serena's alt costumes the hair is staying the same red, but for Veronica, her hair is going back to normal blonde. Is this known and I just didn't read that somewhere??
So, to be sure: it's working correctly for the default costume, but when equipping some alternate costumes it's changing back? That is to be expected
Some alt costumes use a completely different mesh/texture for the hair- since this one is only intended for the default costume, that will happen when some alts are equipped. The same applies for Serena if you unlock a couple of her late-game outfits: [spoiler 1] or [spoiler 2]
Ah I see, so some Alt Costumes change the default meshes and textures of the character. Particularly I've noticed they tend to be outfits that alter or apply more geometry to the head and/or face. This makes sense.
Early on Serena's outfits basically all don't change anything around that, where both jade and Veronica's outfit's almost exclusively alter things around the head. That makes sense now though. Thank you for clearing that up.
I assume for a "Complete change to all instances" you would have to tweak every model and put that in a .pak? Is this impossible? I don't know a ton about making mods, but I do know how to use some 3d asset creation tools.
It'd basically require a separate texture edit for each hair mesh. Since this is a port of an existing mod, that'd be outside the scope of this (example: Shiroho may have intended the hair to only work for certain costumes? They'd presumably be okay with me doing a little extra to make it work for more if I asked them, but that's not as true to the limitations of the original mod and hence stretching it as a true "port" -- something like that might be better served as a new, original mod)
And that's just speaking of the OG / Project Rebuild parts. When you talk about edits to the Definitive Edition textures (i.e. costumes new & exclusive to DE, such as the two mentioned above), it gets even more complicated:
^So with modding the hair on a DE-exclusive outfit, you could run into conflicts with any mods that change just the outfit (say, a mod that changes the [spoiler 1] outfit) since they are stored on the same layer. For example, one mod might change the color of the catsuit, while another changes the color of the hair. Each would conflict with the other since the same texture would be overwritten.
On the other hand, anything covered by PR (i.e. outfits that existed in the OG release) won't have that issue.
...that's just scratching the surface, really. (and it's possible, if someone was really crazy, they could re-implement these models in such a way that references these as separate materials -- but that's outside of my purview, tbh )
tl;dr: I'd recommend creating an original, separate mod for the DE-exclusive costumes, if you really wanted that.
I was wondering if you perhaps could make a red hair variation for Jade, since you included a blonde version? Like this sort of red DA0000, R 218, G 0 B 0

Thanks for your work
There is this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonquestxisdefinitiveedition/mods/30
Which is a PR port of Drogean's Hero Hair recolors. But I think there may have been another recolor pack I never bothered to port.
