hey tellah, just got into dq11 s and man this game is amazing. im just curious if you were ever able to get the conflict between the outline mod and the equipment mod fixed? if not, do you ever plan on figuring out whats causing the conflict? if not, obviously no big deal, i just really like the remove outline mod and having everything BUT the weapons outline free bothers my ocd to the max LOL. i know yur busy with life, as we all are, but if you ever find the time, i would be forever grateful haha.
Just want to say how amazing all of these rebuild mods are, very appreciated, Thank you!!
Such a shame SE couldn't be bothered to spend the time and do this themselves. It surely wouldn't have cost them that much to do the work especially since they have all the tools already.
And it's a shame the outline removal mod even needs to be a thing, they should allow it right in the settings, it's amazing how good it looks with the outlines gone, just like the borderlands games.
Is this mod in the Mature state ? im just curious, when I look at the bug section there is collision problem cause by this mod, How is the state of the mod, since ther is no update, is it done and without issue ?
Currently Tellah9 has other obligations, but wants to come back and fix the collision bug soon as they have time to do so. This one doesn't appear like it'd take too much to fix.
The collision bug isn't massive, mind. You end up with some goofy results in a couple cases (i.e. a floating character), but nothing game-breaking (i.e. a crash or something that prevents game progress). Though folks that are in their first-time playthrough or otherwise are sensitive to "immersion-breaking" might hold off for now.
The conflict with PR Outline Remover (if you use that at all) is a little more complex and probably won't be done as quickly.
Currently, I'd classify it as "Stable", one below "Mature". It is widely used and tested, and lacks any major or frequent issues -- however, unlike what I would classify as "Mature", it still has a few milestones to make or (more apt in this case) a few things to iron out.
Thanks for your honest answer, I gonna hold off on this mod for my playthrough, I really like to use outline remover and I dont want visual glitch on my first playthrough like you said :) thanks to you and all the modding community for your hard work and kindness :)
@Thatguy531, the "fixed" version talked about here is already uploaded- it's version 0.5
This one fixes the collision issue.
However, the conflict with PR Outline Removal is more complex and probably won't be done for awhile. As stated before, Tellah9 has a lot of other obligations, so it may take awhile for them to come back around.
And even then, they may not feel up to fixing this issue as it basically requires re-doing and reimporting so many assets in the mod *just* to make it compatible with the outline removal mod. On the other hand, it's a lot easier just to tell folks: "hey don't use these mods together", and this way Tellah9 can free themselves up to doing whatever new and interesting mods they like.
This is one of those things where I wish Nexus would add a section for "incompatible" mods, just like the mod requirement section. Then it would at least let you know when you've downloaded an incompatible mod and you can tell at a glance that you'll have to choose one or the other. Not have to bother the modder and the modder doesn't need to constantly help troubleshoot folks who run into these things. They can just list the incompatibilities and move on.
The #1 thing that makes modders quit: when they constantly feel pressured to work on something that they're not (or no longer) passionate about. So we try not to badger someone when we already know they're getting a lot of requests to continue work on one mod or another. I happen to know that they've been getting hammered with requests by a lot of folks in the Tales of Arise community and have pretty much walked away from ToA for exactly that reason.
They have another mod for DQXI-S called "Spellcaster Hero", which as of this point, is still unpublished. It's incredible though. Honestly, I'd much rather that mod see the light of day. But, i'm also not the one to be determining Tellah9's priorities. That's for them and them only.
Scratch that. Just happen to be at the point in the game where the hero needs a hoody, which I guess counts as a different outfit and conflicts with the sword. Works on a different file just fine.
Hello, new to DQ Modding I installed the mod but gives me darker metal textures on weapon like the iron shield or other metallic weapons are super dark, almost all black or with weird shader reflections, like they reflect black I have other project rebuild mods but this is the only one that gives me this effect, what could I do?
Edit: found the problem, the mod is NOT compatible with the outline remover, so if you remove it, textures and metal shaders are messed up and they turn almost black
Thanks for reporting this! It'll be good to know. We may end up reporting this back to Link to see if they would know more about why this would happen (we were under the impression that it'd be fully compatible w/ outline remover).
I suppose it's always possible that a 2nd version could be made with outlines removed if push came to shove (although i'm certain Tellah wouldn't be crazy about that prospect xD)
Would you be able to say which version of the mod this occurs on? (I'm assuming 0.0.4 / the latest, but it's good to be sure) And, if you'd even like to go one step further in helping us out: you might try a couple of the older versions (0.0.1 - 0.0.3) with the outline remover to see if it still occurs with those as well.
I'm sure this happens with 0.2 and 0.4 since these were the one that I had when I noticed the bug, I'll try ver 0.1 and 0.3 as well and I'll edit this message when I try
Edit: It seems that all weapons are affected by blacker textures, not only metallic ones and the outline remover affects all previous mods, from 0.1 to 0.4
Not a bug but an incompatibility issue. Outlines work in a "special" way in this game. In any case, I'll try to figure out a way to make both mods compatible once I finish with my current projects.
I know that many of you want my mod be updated, but, as I've said several times, I'va got the game no longer, so there's no way I can update it. In any case, you can always follow the .csv method to use it.
P.S.: Thank you, Mike, you're the most kind, as always :)

Maybe they'll be a bit more motivated when they see that this mod won the 'Best Presentation' award for Mod of The Year. Congratulations!

Amazing job on this one btw, Tellah!

I'll use it well! Hah, hah, hah.
