3/30/2024 - I am still around on Nexus and I keep up with all comments, however it's been a long time since I've worked on this mod and continued patches are quite unlikely, unfortunately. While not perfect, I'm happy this mod has been so well received and given an opportunity for more people to enjoy this game and feel seen! If any other modders out there feel like taking the torch and tackling bugs/missed lines, I'd be happy to publish the updates on this mod page and give full credit.
Love the mod, but was a little disappointed at the mismatch with the gender specific sauna rooms! I am stopped when trying to go into the women's room. I can see how it would be tough to work around given how you need to end up in the room with Erik, but it definitely stands out.
Perhaps an alternative naming scheme for the rooms could help? The women's room could be turned into an employee's only room, or a room reserved for a private event or something...
Thanks so much for this! Dragon Quest/Warrior 3, 4, and 9 let you play the main character as a girl. There's no reason to have gone backwards for this one. This game is eminently more playable for me now.
I haven't been using this mod for long, but I have to say I absolutely love it! It's so nice to be able to finally have the option to play as a female hero without having to constantly correct the gender references in my head as I read them in the game. Silent protagonists should just be given the option to choose the gender since they are already enough of a blank slate, but I realize that forces the developers to have double the work in creating their games since they need to make sure both versions work along with all the resources needed for each one. I can't imagine just how much work went into looking over every piece of text to do this. Thank you so much for creating this mod, this has to be one of my most favorite mods.
Hi, this looks like an interesting mod! I didn't get attached to the main character in this one because I felt his appearance was a bit more subtle than the other main characters in the series... I was looking for a mod to change the appearance of the main character, and I like the main character of this mod, but I'm very sorry to know that I can't install it...! (I think it is because of the text change? I am playing in Japanese, so I can't start the game.... (I play in Japanese, so it could be because of the text change.) So, if you don't mind, could you please release a version with only the character models changed, without the text changes?

I really cannot comprehend why Square Enix doesn't put gender selection in all Dragon Quest games(Except V, i guess).
Yeah it took quite a lot of time combing through all the text by hand, but the positive reception has easily been worth it
