See the "Articles" tab for a detailed list of tracks
This mod requires DQXIHook (standalone link below)
Included is a zipped "Sounds" folder which contains a large set of unpacked Unreal Engine 4 (UE4) asset files (~60+ tracks). The only way to load these loose files (as opposed to a specially encoded ".pak" that the game would normally look for) is to have DQXIHook installed.
Update (08/20): Orchestral sound effects (backported from Definitive Edition) have been added as an optional download.
This mod is 100% compatible with the Orchestral Overhaul Mod. Download the standalone file for DQXIHook from the link above and extract it to your installation directory: <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Binaries\Win64\
(where <steamapps> is typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\ )
Note: SpecialK users will want to check the instructions in the link above, where it is suggested to rename the new "dxgi.dll" to "dinput8.dll" instead. Then, add this section to the end of "dxgi.ini" in the same directory:
Once you have DQXIHook squared away, unpack the "Sounds" folder included with this mod to: <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Content\
If everything is done correctly, you should have:
<steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Binaries\Win64\dxgi.dll <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Content\Sounds\BGM\(a ton of .uexp and .uasset files)
(For orchestral sound effects:) <steamapps>\common\DRAGON QUEST XI\Game\Content\Sounds\ME\(a handful of .uexp and .uasset files)
-This mod replaces 60+ tracks from all over the entire game.
-The music should have more consistent volume compared to the originals.
-All loop points were manually added and checked, but may not be seamless in all cases.
-Additional documentation is still forthcoming, but I plan to make a detailed write-up on all the tools, etc that were used. You can find a guide on custom music injection here. You can also find me on Komodo's modding Discord here
