These colours seem to be fading in and out with the default , sometimes theres both purple and white at the same time. Is this a problem with the mod or something on my end?
The issue really isn't unique to either you or this mod and is in fact due to Special K's behavior where it's essentially hesitating between two different textures. What you need to do is click the 'Reload All Injected Textures' button inside Special K, preferably with the Equipment Menu opened. Just a simple click is necessary at the start of the game and will make your mods work perfectly for your entire gaming-session.
To find that button inside Special K:
Look under the 'Direct3D 11 Settings' tab, you should find a red button labeled 'Render Mod Tools'. Click on it and a new window will appear. The 'Reload All Injected Textures' is another red button that you should find inside that new window, under the 'Live Texture View' tab.
Great mod! Is it possible for this to replace the default costume by any chance? Because the dancer outfit is only useful at the very beginning of the game (very low stats) and becomes rather useless later on.
Unfortunately no, what you proposed isn't quite feasible with the meager tools currently available to modders. I definitely get your drift however, I wish that Dragon Quest XI opted for a different route to manage those outfits, such as making equipment/appearance entirely independent of one another (similar to how it was in a game like Tales of Vesperia, as an example).

Hope this helps!
