Merry Christmas. I had a great gaming experience thanks to your mods. Most games nowadays are spoon-feeding you comparing to the old games we played decades ago. For examples, pre-order bonuses, leveling up with full health/MP, and interaction bubble feature.
-Pre-orders gifts usually gave you some powerful items that will ruin your gameplay. (I usually don't use these gifts expect outfits for characters) -Leveling up with full HP/MP is such a bad decision from developers. I didn't buy this game in the first-place cause of this. Your mod fixed this, and I was so glad I waited for your mods before I picked up the game. -Interaction bubble feature really ruined exploration and the gameplay for me. I hope you would make a mod to take this feature out in the future. They pop up every time when you are near NPCs and objects. (It's more fun to explore yourself without this spoon-feeding feature. Plus, without those pop-ups, the game will also look more beautiful.) Again, thanks for the mods and have a happy holiday.
Probably won't use this one, but just want to say I appreciate all the work you've been doing to give this game the strongest legs possible. So many of your mods are absolutely vital in order to overcome what feels like a somewhat phoned in remake.
Of course, man. I'm glad the mods are making an improvement to the overall game experience. I didn't think this one would be too popular based on similar efforts for previous titles, but I wanted to make a nice little festive mod as a bonus before the Holidays :D
I have mixed feelings about this title, for sure. Personally, there is a lot for me to enjoy and i'm probably going to be playing the game for months. DQ3 has always had really good replay value for the DQ series (due to the class system / etc).
That said...remakes are always tricky territory when it comes to faithfulness vs QoL. They kinda didn't really nail either and didn't really add a whole ton extra (a few nice things, for sure, buuut still left more to be desired). The game took a good deal of time in development and is retailing for a full $60 USD, which just feels like too much for what it is- especially when you compare it to other contemporary titles, including DQXI-S, which is often going for a lot less.
The bright side is that (1) the game has a super high ceiling in terms of what can be done with modding and we're really just scratching the surface. And (2) i'm hopeful that DQ3 is put on discount at some point (maybe a package deal when 1 & 2 HD-2D come out?), and/or maybe it comes to services like GamePass so that it becomes more accessible.
I think the price point is a huge barrier to entry right now, but being that it's a pretty easy game to get into (and a remake of an absolute masterpiece imo), I think that it could see a larger audience if SquareEnix plays their cards right. (They wont lol, but there's some wishful thinking for ya)
