Is Day of Fate the only SSJ2 Gohan version available? I really wanted Gohan's Anger for that which for some crazy reason isn't in the faulconer cutscene mod :(
1. VGMToolbox to extract the DBZ Kakarot footage (Unless you want to replace the Kakarot Opening Footage AND music then forget this part)
2. FFMPEG to convert the footage and music to a editable format but you'll also need it later (I use WAV and MKV respectively)
3. Editing Software (I use Shotcut, it's free and it does the job)
4. Scaleform Video Encoder, the final step, you'll need this to convert your video into a USM
"ffmpeg -i (Your file name).mp4 (Your file name).wav (Your file name)%04d.tga" wait for that to finish.
then open scaleform, go to input name and click the "..." and select the FIRST TGA file of your video it will have your file name and be labeled "0001"
Then go down to audio click "Mono/Stereo" you'll see the selection light up click the "..." next to it and select your WAV file.
then go to video settings and select the framerate your video is in, and set bitrate to "100000"
wait for that to finish
delete the batch file you dont need it, and you can delete the TGA and WAV files if you want to
then name the newly made USM the same name as the file in Kakarot then put the file into your "movies" section of Kakarot
Thank you for giving some vastly more fitting music to the opening cutscene of the Trunks DLC. I don't know who in their right mind thought that Cha La Head Cha La was remotely appropriate for that scene. I wish I'd discovered this mod a lot sooner.
Would you consider doing a version of the Trunks SS2 transformation scene with the original full vocal version of Hikari no Willpower? (And maybe a different track for the first half of the scene before the transformation occurs that isn't just the game's generic "tense moment" music)
I know right! I was genuinely shocked they did that, like who with any common sense would think thats a good fit for the tone of that DLC.
as for the Trunks scene, MAYBE. I can try the Full vocal of Hikari no Willpower but the first half is unfortunately a no go as I'd have to replace the sound effects for that entire scene which is a lot of work, the only one I've been able to get away with "replacing" the music was x20 kaioken were the generic music was quiet enough to be overpowered and still transition back into focus after my song ended.
Edit: I MIGHT do the first half, I'm seeing a lot of sound effects I might want to improve, if I can find the time I may get to revising that cutscene again
i am confused about the downlaods. are the main files updated already to have the fixes you made later on? if i want to download now, i just have to download the main files only? the sfx fixes etc are already included? also, do mods changing bgm.awb affect the cutscenes?
Just download the main files, the "updated" and standalone were for those who downloaded the main files already when I was still going through the other cutscenes or made updates to cutscenes in the main files so they don't have to download another huge file for one or two additions or updates.
all the main files are up to date and are what everyone who hasn't downloaded before should download.
That's good. Anyway, I still have the second question. There are plenty of soundtrack mods that affect bgm.awb, for e.g budokai Tenkaichi soundtrack mod. do those mods affect this mod's cutscenes? Are there any conflicts? Also, you could make some comparison vids for any major changes you did.
the cutscenes are separate files from the BGM and won't be effected by Soundtrack mods. As for comparison I feel that's unnecessary for me to do, big changes (Music, sound FX, dialogue changes etc.) you'll notice very apparently and can simply look up the original cutscene on youtube and pull up my version also on youtube and compare.
The thing people may have trouble spotting are the slight dialogue changes on cutscenes where thats pretty much all I changed, which again you can just compare using videos on YouTube.
Last question, if I use the jap dub, are the soundtracks in the jap cutscenes the ones you used in this mod or the default original? Or does this mod only affect the dub cutscenes? Just curious is all
I think the game switches the cutscenes when you change the language, so the changes only apply to the english dub, with changing to japanese overwriting and changing the cutscenes to vanilla japanese cutscenes
Not to the extent that I'd like, replacing Gohans voice would only be for the cutscene then it'd switch back to colleen in gameplay making it kinda jarring. Also the original Z dub is not great, I get its nostalgic but the quality of the voice acting is very poor as it was during the era were dubbing was still very new as well as the actors not very experienced (If Nadolney had returned for Kai or had redone lines then that'd be a different story)
I thought about it, but I even with the kai lines Gokus mouth is moving and still wouldnt match the kai lines since its basically the same
When i tried this mod the cutscenes for some reason stuttered, i think i've done everything correctly and i just can't figure out why do they stutter. Is there any solution?
which cutscenes? and what do you mean by stutter. it might be your settings. Kakarot is weird. I have fullscreen, V-sync off in-game but forced V-sync on via GPU settings
I'm not sure what you're asking for, are you asking for me to make the "the adventure begins" into 60fps like the opening? if so no, the only that is even 60 fps is because I grabbed the footage from youtube and the person who posted the video up scaled it, I dont have the tools to do it myself
I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem, since I’m using a steam deck, but the English opening lags a lot for me. The other cutscenes in this mod seem to work just fine, the opening is the only one with problems.
When you improved the other cut scenes, did you also use 60 fps versions for them like you did for the opening? That's the only reason I can think of that'd be causing lag.
Just a suggestion, a mod this large probably needs a torrent attached to it somewhere, so people don't have to deal with slow and capped Nexus download speeds.
I am currently working on making an animated cutscene mod but for some reason the videos won't play any longer than the original video length. For example the cutscene I am speaking of is Goku+Piccolo vs Radditz. The original CGI game video is 2:46 long. When I add in my own video any length longer than 2:46 causes a blank screen and game freeze. Do you know why is that or how I could fix it?
I'd have to assume when replacing the original file for the cutscene, the game is only suppose to play that footage for 2:46 and if it's longer it doesn't know what to do and crashes, just a guess though. if you're gonna make cutscenes to replace you have to work with the time the original cutscene is
Did you create your new cutscene and add it in game and that's what happened? I'd like to know because my Parody FSK cutscene is longer and I'd like to know if I should take it down
Thank you :) the focus of my mod is to focus on the english cutscenes and fix them to fit those voices, even if I had access to the other language voice files that's a lot of work that I don't really feel like doing.
if someone wants the music and sounds of my cutscenes but with other languages they can feel free to extract my files and replace the voices (So long as credit to me is given) that's fine with me.

Assuming you meant this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonballzkakarot/mods/30?tab=videos
Is there any chance you'd be willing to advise on how to change the audio myself?
to do it yourself this is what you'd need to do
1. VGMToolbox to extract the DBZ Kakarot footage (Unless you want to replace the Kakarot Opening Footage AND music then forget this part)

Amei seu mod! muito obrigado!

*update*
It seems that the intro cutscene works when starting the game, but it still lags when viewing it in the Z encyclopedia.
