Although my mods were created and designed for DAI Mod Manager, they can all be imported and used by Frosty EXCEPT for the configurable ones. Unfortunately Frosty does not support configurable mods and is unlikely to do so anytime soon.
Mod manager says this mod is not compatible with my patch.
My mods were created with various versions of the modding tools and with various game patches up to and including patch 11 (internal version number 12). If you synchronise your game with Origin you will not get this error message. The game is pretty cheap now so please consider buying it.
I'm getting infinite loading on returning to Skyhold/fast travelling.
This is a known issue with some texture/mesh replacer mods. None of my mods fall into that category. The usual culprits are companion mods/cosmetic changes or texture replacers. The only way to track the issue is to remove those mods and add them back in individually. Check the comments section on all mods before you download them.
Do your mods work with Trespasser/JoH/The Descent/Black Emporium?
As far as I can tell all of my mods work in all of the DLC apart from the "investigate the bodies" scene in The Descent when all mods have to be disabled. Do that by incrementing the patch number in package.mft by 1 (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch) then downgrading it again when you're past that scene. All hex edit mods, as opposed to texture and mesh replacer mods, will work fine in the DLC. The other option is to use Frosty and import your Daimods or use both mod managers. You can find tutorials for this on the DAI Modding Discord.
Do you take requests?
Usually no, I don't have the time, but if it's an addition or a natural extension to one of my existing mods then I'll consider it.
I'm getting a error message from Mod Manager - something about zlib/mscorlib/blah blah
There are many things that can cause Mod Manager to crash and refuse to build a patch for you. Sometimes just reinstalling it can fix the problem. Sometimes you're trying to install an old mod that's not compatible with the latest game patch. Check out the troubleshooting guides on the DAI Modding Discord.
I'm still having problems getting your mod to work.
You can post a comment here, but I have made a lot of mods and don't always have the time to provide support. First try this troubleshooting guide DAI Modder Central on tumblr. If that doesn't solve your problem, then try the DAI Modding Discord server: https://discord.gg/wzJG7Mq
Before you post the same comment on another mod, the answer is "Yes, they all work." but I'll admit that modding DAI is nowhere near as easy as say something like Skyrim. So you need to follow the instructions carefully. Although the game has not changed since 2015, people are now using Frosty instead of the old Mod Manager (which still works btw) and some people have migrated from Origin to the EA app which doesn't work well with Frosty.
This is not a problem with my mods. Either use the old mod manager or use Frosty Fix to launch the EA desktop before you run frosty. If you don't do this, the mods wont work.
You could try reading the installation instructions in the mod description. And also Mod Manager still works fine, it just doesn't receive updates anymore which isn't a problem since the game hasn't been updated since 2015.
Sharing a fun bug, in case someone else has faced it. I installed the mod with Frosty: - Day 1: CTD on launch when using the light, medium and heavy options, works with the rest - Day 2: CTD on launch unless using only "Crafting base" - Day 3: CTD on launch with every file
Tried deleting ModData, restarts and all. Fun times. If anyone finds a solution, I'm game. Otherwise I'll post here if I find something.
Cheers and love to the creator, I've enjoyed this mod in the past, it's great
i am new to DAI modding. i am using frosty mod manager and it says mod was designed for a different game version, not sure what exactly that means but mod has no ingame impact
Hi everyone! I only recently started modding DAI and I'm using Frosty Mod Manager. I tried adding this mod but I receive a message "Archive contains no installable mod". After reading the threads, I saw someone posting about using the "import" button instead of "add" but it only seems to work for packs and the mod is a single file (7z). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Does anyone have ideas?
Yes it does. Make sure you have the Trespasser file installed in addition to the main file. Disciple's armor (The Reaver war table reward armor) was added with the Trespasser DLC.
hey tirnoney, i want elves to be able to wear other armors cause they are very limited by this game does this mod make it able for them to wear human armors?
For some reason I'm having trouble getting this mod to work. I used a now discontinued DAI Mod Manager but it otherwise worked so I'm kinda assuming that's not the reason. All other mods work and there are no error messages. Even if only the version of this mod that affects crafted armors is loaded and no other mod, it doesn't work, neither on previously crafted armors nor ones crafter after the mod was loaded. Any suggestions?
Okay, so it partially works. Some armors are apparently not covered. On the craftable warrior side, the Griffon Plate, Refined Battlemaster Coat and Mail are not unlocked. Superior and below seem work, however.
Griffon plate was added by Tresspasser so you need to add the Tresspasser file. "Refined" tier was added by Jaws of Hakkon so you need to add the JoH file. These are not in the base "crafting" file so that it can be used by people who do not own the DLC.
you can import a daimod file to frosty by opening fmm and clicking 'import mod', then selecting the daimod file. not all mods work after being imported, but some do.
Side note, most of the DAI mods that DON'T work with Frosty are texture or unique hair and armor mods.
Mods that just edit files to tweak dialogue or remove restrictions on things, etc. seem to import and work just fine. Although some of the more recent Frosty versions have been janking up ALL mods, so...
