Although my mods were created and designed for DAI Mod Manager, they can all be imported and used by Frosty EXCEPT for the configurable ones. Unfortunately Frosty does not support configurable mods and is unlikely to do so anytime soon.
Mod manager says this mod is not compatible with my patch.
My mods were created with various versions of the modding tools and with various game patches up to and including patch 11 (internal version number 12). If you synchronise your game with Origin you will not get this error message. The game is pretty cheap now so please consider buying it.
I'm getting infinite loading on returning to Skyhold/fast travelling.
This is a known issue with some texture/mesh replacer mods. None of my mods fall into that category. The usual culprits are companion mods/cosmetic changes or texture replacers. The only way to track the issue is to remove those mods and add them back in individually. Check the comments section on all mods before you download them.
Do your mods work with Trespasser/JoH/The Descent/Black Emporium?
As far as I can tell all of my mods work in all of the DLC apart from the "investigate the bodies" scene in The Descent when all mods have to be disabled. Do that by incrementing the patch number in package.mft by 1 (usually in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch) then downgrading it again when you're past that scene. All hex edit mods, as opposed to texture and mesh replacer mods, will work fine in the DLC. The other option is to use Frosty and import your Daimods or use both mod managers. You can find tutorials for this on the DAI Modding Discord.
Do you take requests?
Usually no, I don't have the time, but if it's an addition or a natural extension to one of my existing mods then I'll consider it.
I'm getting a error message from Mod Manager - something about zlib/mscorlib/blah blah
There are many things that can cause Mod Manager to crash and refuse to build a patch for you. Sometimes just reinstalling it can fix the problem. Sometimes you're trying to install an old mod that's not compatible with the latest game patch. Check out the troubleshooting guides on the DAI Modding Discord.
I'm still having problems getting your mod to work.
You can post a comment here, but I have made a lot of mods and don't always have the time to provide support. First try this troubleshooting guide DAI Modder Central on tumblr. If that doesn't solve your problem, then try the DAI Modding Discord server: https://discord.gg/wzJG7Mq
14/4/2019: Various bug fixes and changes. This necessitated changing the colours in the opulent version of the mod. Should make RGB colour conversion more accurate.
If some ghost is still here: I don't know what happened but all my hourlong curated muted colours are now NEON. I laughed real hard at the beginning when Cassandra showed up in bubblegum pink and Solas ready for a rave in glowstick green. I tested the colours beforehand via tinting table and they where fine. What happened?
Edit: Got it to work by myself, so to everyone who is in 2025 struggeling with the same problem: Use the Google Colour Picker and choose the colour you want. Than go several shades darker AND grayer. The darker the shade you want the truer it looks, the brighter the shade the more it looks like the late 90's have vomited some glowsticks into a lavalamp, so it takes some back and forth. And trust the process: What looks like a gray in google is a nice bright shade of lilac in DAI. Pale Mint Green: 217:229:126 (Picker) In game: 139:145:126 Bright Red: 202:13:13 (Picker) In game: 128:24:24 slightly muted reddisch pale pink: 254:205:217 (Picker) In game: 168:136:144 warm medium dark gray: 92:75:56 (Picker) In game: 61:16:23 Petrol: 11:121:119 (Picker) 13:59:58 You get the gist. Leather and Cloth work the same, exept those leathers with tinted texture like the dragonling scales. They become less bright, than the other leathers.
For anyone interested, this mod DOES work with the latest version of the Frosty Mod Manager. I know tirnoney says otherwise in the FAQ above, but the latest Frosty build (v1.0.6.0 Beta 5 & v1.0.6.1, the ones I have used as of this writing), does support configurable DAIMOD files. It's working for me straight away ingame. The configuration menu pops up just like in DAIMM.
The one catch is Frosty appears to "bake" the choices of the config menu into the mod. This means you cannot alter the mod values again after install into Frosty. If there is a way to reopen the config menu after installing into Frosty, I've yet to find it. The only way to alter the color values is to remove the mod completely from Frosty and reinstall via the DAIMOD file. So I'd recommend you keep a note somewhere with your prefered color palette values.
this is next level stuff, the programming solution you made is beyond fantastic and possibilities are endless! thank you so much for badass mod!! currently playing through main game and loving it. just a question, I saw you have JoH file, does that mean it will not work in Descent and Trespasser? not that it matters much but just wondering! thanx again!!
Hi, anyone else using this in combination with live like viv? I've managed to get it to work so that most of the outfit turns out black, issue is I dont know HOW I managed to get it to work and now I'm trying again and its driving me nuts, cause I can't get it to work. I THINK its supposed to be some mix of ll crafting (for different color materials), this (of course) and the live like viv mod. Or someone with mod knowledge who could give me tips of how the mods should be like... layered? Using daimod.
I have a questions for whomever can answer them for me if I may... Does anyone know the colour code to make the Qunari "pauldrons" the same as the dlc red colour?, and is there any way of getting rid of that annoying glowy sheen from the dragon webbing and velveteen?
Thanks again for this, I use many of your mods and they are all permanent additions to my mod list. You are an exceptional modder :)
Hello, I am not entirely sure why I would need this mod? You can already color your armor while crafting so I am a bit confused. :/ Could you pls explain it to me?
This mod was made before Bioware added the tint table to the game. heh. Anyway, there are no true black fabrics or leathers which was my original inspiration for making the mod back in the day. That is still the case. Also, lustrous cotton is not really a dark enough shade of red for me.
The tint table only swaps one material for another, it doesn't adjust the material. So, for example, you want a different colour of a material with high fresnel, you'd adjust plush fustian velvet, for example. ...Other things you might want to adjust colours on are materials with high specularity or a particular pattern.
Quick question. I am looking at the daimod file in Notepad++ but it isn't reading the file as code like it should. I have manually changed the language to C# but I am still seeing blocks of text such as NUL in a black background/white text that is one character. There are some of these "characters" in the first line of the document, and sprinkled through line 265. The rest of the file looks like gibberish with a lot of these "characters".
Before I mess with anything I wanted to confirm this was normal.

Oh and thanks so much for all your hard work. I use several of your mods and it make my replay so much more fun!
That's the binary stuff. The file itself is not binary though so you can increase or decrease the overall file size. As long as you are editing it in Notepad++ it wont damage it. Just make sure you only edit the text stuff in the code section shown in the image of the mod.
Since porting the mod to frosty doesn't work very well I'd like to change the colour of the great bear hide directly on the recipe_material file. Should I change the shader parameters?

A list of material's RGB code would be great :)

I now know that the sheen is called fresnel. You could edit the material manually to get rid of it.
