Unfortunately, I can't get anywhere with "daitools.freeforums". It comes up as a bad gateway and since I've already claimed these perks I can't use the mod.
I am using this mod with the latest patch. And it is working just fine for me. Check your inventory ,, while it does not say you are getting 99 mats,, you really are. Also make sure you are using only 1 ( one ) version of this mod.
Loved the mod but patch 9 seems to have broken it. Not sure if it is just not working for me, or if it maybe is just not showing the right materials I'm receiving but as of patch 9 it says I'm getting the regular items.
I'm not sure how to add the fade-touched versions to the cache (I tried once with a store, which crashed), because they seem to be entrenched in the "loot table" system. What I did here was just switch the file id's but all the different versions of each material ("plain" and the three fade-touched versions) are all included in the same file; I'm not entirely sure how the game differentiates. I might check in out down the road, but can't make any promises in the near future. If you're curious about doing one yourself, I did a tutorial here:
ok, I kept thinking about it, so I looked in the game files under "masterwork" and...voila! Only the first cache for now; I'm busy working on some store mods, so we won't have to keep repeating the perks with the save game editor. I guess there aren't any? fade-touched versions of dragony things, so I substituted dragon scales with infused vyrantium samite. the new mod (I put it in "optional") will conflict with the original "The Right Stuff" mod so don't load them together
When you purchase Josephine's "the Rare Stocks" with a perk point at the War Table, instead of getting 9 different tier 1 items (i.e. lambswool, silk, blue vitriol, nugskin, etc...) in amounts of 1-10, you will instead get 99 each of 9 different Tier 3 and 4 crafting items added to your inventory. The text that informs you that the items have been added will sometimes tell you that you got "99" and sometimes "0;" I'm not sure how to fix that but, no matter what it says, you did get 99. You can't check for crafting items in your inventory (probably a remnant of this game's origins as an MMO), but you can go to a store, click on the icons for "sell" and "crafting items," and you can see what you have (don't actually "sell" unless you want to, b/c you can't buy crafting items back). Also, you can go to any crafting bench and see- it will take longer but it will work. The game is designed so that you have to kill a dragon before you get any dragon-y items, and that you have to be at a higher level (14? 16?) before you see many "rare" tier 3 items, so if you're at a low level and have these things (presumably 99 each), it's working! The list of items you'll get is on the mod's description page. *to get a perk point for the war table, you have to recruit somebody for the Inquisition (or take a keep later on)
borglet, You can check crafting items in your inventory. open your inventory and there's a scroll bar beside the tab options(armor, weapons ect) that you can use to scroll to other options like schematics and crafting materials. that failing if you use the up and down arrow keys you could be able to scroll through more options and what you can see when you first open the inventory.
@Vylix, NO WAY!!! That's awesome!!! I'm gonna go try it. btw trying not to think about how many hours I poured into this game without figuring that out
@Borglet, Don't Worry I was over 100 hours in when it donned on me that the thing to the side was a scroll bar. It blew my mind that I missed it for so long.
Why am I getting an error message where my mod manager is looking for layout.toc in the Win32 file (in data). TT.TT i want to use this mod so bad but i have no idea how exactly i am frelling up
I just merged a new patch to see if that issue came up, but it didn't. Not knowing exactly what's going on, it sounds like it is/was looking for a game file that wasn't there; maybe you tried to merge with a modded (non-vanilla) patch by accident. Anyway, if it's working now, great! Just for reference, for you or anyone LapisLazzuli's tutorial
scary announcement for all: *****TOMORROW (May 5) a new patch, it's rumored, is descending upon us, so make sure you have a clean (vanilla) copy of Patch 6*****
Are you using patch 6 ? There are a number of steps to go through to make mods work with that patch. And if I can do it, I know you can do it http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/493/?
When I installed it, it didn't let me play another save I had, it said that the save I was trying to load was created in a newer update. Could it be possible?
This happens to me alot, because I always forget to rename the newly-merged patch (i.e. "MyMergedPatch" or whatever you call it) as "Patch" and replace the original "Patch" with it. The game considers your modded version of the Patch an "update" of the vanilla/unmodded Patch. Another thing that might cause that might be if you accidentally merged your mods with your modded patch instead of (a copy of) the Vanilla one. For me, though, it's usually just that I didn't overwrite the "Patch" I merged with with the new, merged one I just made. It can frustrating, I know ; hang in there
I always delete the merged files before doing anything. If you follow all the steps one by one, you won't have this problem. Start over by deleting any patch.daimod from the DAI ModManager v0.48 alpha-116-0-48 folder. Then delete any old merged files from your C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Update\merged folder.
Place a fresh copy of the patch 6 into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Patch folder.
Run modmanager once. Close it. Delete the new merged files C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Update\merged. Delete the patch.daimod from the DAI ModManager v0.48 alpha-116-0-48 folder
Replace the deleted patch.daimod with Patch 6 Mod Manager-510-1-0 patch.daimod in the DAI ModManager v0.48 alpha-116-0-48 folder
Run mod manager... uncheck/disable the lower offical patch in the list...config any of the mods that need to be configured.... click merge... do not have rescan patch checked....
In C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch~~ Delete the contents of the patch folder. In the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Update\merged ~~ CUT the contents of this folder and paste into the "empty patch folder" C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\dragon Age Inquisition\Update\Patch
You should be good to go until next time you want to add or subtract a mod

it just goes to show, you definitely don't have to be a genius to do this mod!
