Overview
Makes most non-hostile wildlife in the game untargetable and unkillable, so that they won't get caught in the crossfire of fights. I've also included a version of the mod that makes several varieties of hostile wildlife non-hostile and unkillable, as well.
Most hostile quest enemies should be independently spawned and won't be affected by the mod. Non-hostiles quest creatures, such as the Hinterlands rams, will be affected, so if you want to complete that quest, either disable this mod or use the Purchasable Ram Meat file in my Odds and Ends mod. I also set both Lord Woolsley and the Golden Halla as unkillable, assuming that if you're trying to save wildlife, you don't want to kill them either. If you do want to kill them, disable the mod before approaching them.
The mod can be disabled and re-enabled at any point during gameplay, but you may need to exit an area and re-enter it for changes to take effect.
Notes
The changes had to be made on an area-by-area basis, so it's possible that I missed some creatures. Feel free to let me know if you spot some, and I'll try to track them down.
Enemy creatures included in the Hostiles version are:
- Wolves
- Mabari
- Hyenas
- Phoenixes
- Bears
Note that the wolves in the Hinterlands that are connected to the quest there will remain hostile, as will the mabari on the storm coast that are connected to the Blades of Hessarian. All other wolves and mabari should be non-hostile as intended.
