New Influence Table

[Dragon Age Inquisition MOD]

Use subject: New Influence Table Version 1.01

SUMMARY
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This mod changes the influence points required for leveling up your
Inquisition level within Dragon Age Inquisition. Progression moves half
as fast, but you receive twice as many perks per level. The end result
is that you can reach the games cap twice as fast.

As of version 1.0, the game seems to cap inquisition perks at 20. I am looking into ways to remove this cap for version 2.0.

DAI Leveling:

Experimention has shown that DAI does appear to keep track of how much influence you have earned. However what is displayed under character attributes only shows how much influence you have earned since the last level up and how much you need for the next level.

So if the Inquisition is at level 5 with 2000 Influence Points, the Inquisition really has 17000 Influence Points, but the game hides 15000 of it and only shows how much you have earned since turning level 5 and how much you need for the next level up event.

When you install these leveling tables, your level may adjust based on your actual total Influence. You should not lose perks, but as this table rewards you with twice as many perks per level event, you will miss out on some of the additional perks you could have earned if you install this late in the game. So the earlier in your campaign you install this mod, the better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Requirements

Requires a patched version of DAI. If you use an outdated version or have
updates disabled, don't use this mod.

Installing this mod requires the use of the latest DAI Mod Manager, which can
be downloaded here:

http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/116

B. Initial Install

The 7z archive includes the files:

NewInfluenceTable/NewInfluenceTable.daimod

Extract the 7zip archive to a staging area. I recommend creating the
folder:

C:/DAIxtract/mods

And extracting it there.

Then run DAIModManager

- The first time you run it, it will ask you for the location of
DAI. Normally it is located at:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\

Once the DAIModManager is running, point the Mod Path at the directory
you extracted the 7zip to

[C:\DAIxtract\mods]

then make sure there is an [X] beside the Official Patch and the mod:

[X] Official Patch
[X] NewInfluenceTable

Click the [ Merge ] button.

Browse to your Dragon Age Inquisuion update folder. Typically:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update

And within it, right click the back ground and create the folder "merged"

Double click the new folder to enter. Your path should look like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\merged\"

Click [ Save ]

It takes a few minutes. When it is finished, you will see the new
influence tables in effect when you start your next game (or load
an existing game).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
II. > > > > UnInstall
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Simple

The simple method is to delete the merged folder:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\Update\merged\"

However, this will disable ALL mods you have installed and you will not
be able to load old save games made while the mod was installed.

B. Advanced

If you have other mods, run the DAIModManager, uncheck
NewInfluenceTable and recreate your merged folder.

C. Faking it

If this is the only mod you are using and you want to remove ALL mods, but
want to salvage your old save games, the easy thing to do is delete the
Data directory from merged folder:

[DAI_HOME]\Update\merged\Data

Then copy the Data directory from the official patch into your merged
directory:

[DAI_HOME]\Update\Patch\Data => [DAI_HOME]\Update\merged\Data

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Compatibility

This mod is only tested with the single player campaign. I have no idea
what impact it might have on multiplayer if any. (I would guess all
machines involved would need the same mod set installed, but that is
unconfirmed)

B. Technical (For Developers)

How did I make this mod? I downloaded the DAI Modding Tool from here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzqpBc4MrAMXOEdmTTNxejhUR3M/view

(Requires 64 bit OS and DX11 compatible card)

Opened/Exported the resource:

Data -> da3 -> configurations -> DA3InquisitionExperienceSettings

Using a HEX editor, I edited the exported file, searching for the
experience values and perks listed in the plain text version of the
file and replacing them with my values. When I was finished, I imported
the edited binary chunk back into the Modding Tool. Then used the tool
to save a "Distributable Mod".

NOTE: There are two modding tools in development. The other one is
named DAI Tool and can be downloaded here. It has different abilities.
