If you are having trouble getting your DLC to work, or if the game is preventing you from loading a save because it says you don't have DLC installed that you definitely do, this is the fix.

Something about how DA:I detects that you have the DLC installed gets irrevocably messed up and that problem lives in the ProfileOptions file in your DA:I save directory. Replacing your broken file with a copy from a PC that doesn't have the issue is the only fix for this issue.

This is a bugfix acknowledged by EA Support and the EA Answers DA:I forum mods, and it's helped hundreds of people since the community discovered it in late 2021. I had been providing the fixed ProfileOptions file via Discord DMs, but wanted to upload the fix here for everyone's convenience.

1) download and extract the ProfileOptions file
2) open Windows Explorer to %userprofile%\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save 
3) backup your original file just in case (e.g., rename the original file to ProfileOptions.bak)
4) paste the new ProfileOptions file into %userprofile%\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save
5) launch the game and enjoy - you may need to use the Load button, as this mod can temporarily affect the Continue button until you load your character successfully - see update below

NOTE: Do NOT connect to the Dragon Age Keep or the game will break and you'll have to replace the file again. Yes that means you're locked out of online, but this is a game from 2014...

**2023 February Update**
The community has discovered a couple notable nuances when using this mod.

There are a few people who've said they're still unable to load their saves after applying this fix, but they can start a new game with the DLC actually enabled. Over in the EA Answers forum atex50 and zuggsoft note that using this mod will affect the ability to use the Continue button because it replaces the activeSaveGame value along with everything else in the file. You can update this value to match the value in your original ProfileOptions file. You can also just use the Load button instead of the Continue button. You may also need to toggle between characters using the Switch Characters button on this screen (see second screenshot in this mod for an example). Thanks to sarcasmslife for helping me figure out this may be why some people think they have lost their progress.

I have also read (though I can't find the thread now) that setting this file to Read Only in Windows Explorer will help prevent the game from trying to connect to the Dragon Keep.
