They really did Teagan dirty for Vanilla DA: I... at least with fewer wrinkles he is more palatable. Pity that can't fix his demeanor... and he was such a nice guy in DAO!
Now, I was just wondering... is there possibly any way to make him slightly less pale (changing the skin tone a notch or two?) We saw it was done with Alistair and others (i.e. Fiona and Briala). Teagan had always struck me as an outdoorsy type - in comparison to Eamon... Even after becoming the Arl of Redcliffe, I can't see Teagan being cooped up indoors all the time... but maybe that is just me.
Also, wish there was a way to fix his scraggly facial hair... and that awful Orleasian hat... but probably not. <sigh>
I love this; too bad there isn't a way to ditch the dopey hat they gave him and give him back a decent red hair again. Why BioWare, why?? But I'll take what I can get in making him look nicer cause, boy, did they drop the ball with his design.
exactly! what bothers me the most is that they perfectly know some of us flirted with him in origins, so the vanilla design makes things just so... weird, lol
Oh I know, all my ladies flirted with him, he was just way too cute to flirt with. I was so excited to see him return and then, my jaw dropped. After how nice they made Alistair look, I was expecting him to be very nice looking. Between his looks and his personality, I really did not care for Teagan at all. At least now he will at least be better to look at :D
How nice they made Alist--WHAT?! I refer you to the horror that was vanilla Alistair in DA2!! I suppose the DAI version was an improvement -- in a lot of ways, "recovering meth addict" certainly looks better than "Mr. Potato head stuffed into a blender after walking face-first into a beehive (probably one of Sera's)" -- but COME ON!! xD Please forgive me, but I need to let my nerd flag fly for a moment!!
Alistair would have been, at most, 20 years old during the events of Origins; which would make him around 30 years old during Inquisition. I realize Wardens are fated to die young (that is, until the HoF finds a cure), but canonically speaking Duncan and Riordan were both coming to the end of their lives and neither of them looked half as bad as vanilla DAI Alistair does. During the Fifth Blight, Duncan told Alistair that he had started to hear the Calling, whilst Riordan stated that the Calling wouldn't spare him much longer. Two conclusions can be drawn from those statements.
1. Duncan and Riordan both were coming to the end of their lives and -- per Alistair's explanations to the HoF -- had been with the Wardens for upwards of 30 years. 2. Given that Wardens are recruited starting at the age of 18 (Duncan being an obvious exception, as he was recruited when he was only 17), we can reasonably assume that both he and Riordan were right around 45-50 years old when they died.
So WHY, pray tell, does a 30-year-old looks so much worse than two 50-year-olds who've had the Taint considerably longer than he has? It makes NO SENSE!! The vanilla design for DAI Alistair was absolute crap and the result of very poor planning by the developers (I miss old Bioware!! Dx). Thankfully, there's a mod for that too!!
i suppose it's a matter of opinions...? except for the pale skin tone, i really like DAI alistair's design. the mod you suggested is well done, but i personally cannot unsee the edited bram kenric, lol
Looks very nice! Maybe a smidge too young, though, he is in his early 50s I'm pretty sure. Still, I think Bioware did do him dirty a bit, I think it's that more gaunt facial structure they gave him. That plus the wrinkles certainly aged him more than necessary.

Thankfully, I have a better beard, but I can also kiss Hitler and have a full mustache. THAT part isn't a compliment lmao
