A big thank you from me too - works beautifully! I´ve looked far and wide for a mod that restores the big elf eyes of DA2. I loved their distinctive look. Inquisition lets us recreate the nose bridges, but I was never satisfied with the comparably smaller eye sizes (of male Lavellans especially). You´re a godsend for giving us the option to apply this mod to races and characters selectively.
If you ever decide to mod the game so that the elves are as short as they were in 2 and Origins, I´ll be your first customer X) (I´d like to support you for this one too, but I don´t think you accept payment via paypal T.T) In the meantime, I´ll keep my fingers crossed for a mod like this one to appear on Nexus for Veilguard. Thanks again!
This looks so neat! I'd like to ask, is there a way to use this for only the inquisitor? Or will it always apply to multiple characters? (I'm not sure I interpreted the description correctly, sorry!)
Longer answer: if you want to reduce how many characters this mod affects, whilst still affecting your inquisitor, what you can do is download the base mod file, and then, download the the separate shader swaps file INSTEAD of the all in one file. You can use the black sclera or the white sclera one, depending on your preference. Within that, there are many files, but in this scenario, you would ignore the other files within it, and just pick out the generic file for the sex and race combination of your inquisitor e.g if your inquisitor was an elf female, you would use the Generic Elf Female Eye Shaders.fbmod from within it.
Using just that file, with the base mod file, would make it so that your inquisitor, and any other elf females except Sera would be affected. Companions and advisors have their own eye shaders, so aren't affected by the generic files, but are affected by the files that have their own names in them.
If, however, the only thing you want from this mod is the bigger eyes, and you don't want the bigger eyes to affect anyone at all but your inquisitor, newer versions of enhanced character creation let you scale the iris and pupil of just the inquisitor in character creation, I believe.
Sorry for such a late reply... I have been asked about the metal shaders before, but I honestly don't know how to change that, because I think that's just how the game renders them. There are probably ways to change it even so, but I don't know them, if so.
What I did with the eye shaders was basically stealing an existing eye shader that rendered the eyes slightly differently, I don't personally know of any shaders that support metalness that aren't the default ones.
yeaaaah, kinda. xP i can't control how big it makes the characters eyes when i swap the shader, what happens happens
(btw: your download history says you downloaded just the base mod, this won't do anything by itself. if you want the eyes to have a change you have to use the base mod file alongside one of the shader swap files, be it the all in one, which by the sounds of it, you probably personally won't want as that will affect samson too, or be it a separate shader swaps one, which is split up by character, so you can choose who is affected)
I absolutely love these, but I use the custom hair pack from Anto Hairstyles for DAI that replaces hair M on EF. If it's not too much work, could you please share a compatibility patch for EF hair M? Or point me in the direction of a guide that could help me do it myself? Thank you!
oh, i did make a compatibility patch for custom texture hair m replacers on elf female for one of my own hair mods i was working on, but i forgot to publish it.
but the patch i made should work with any elf female hair m custom texture replacer, so should work with that mod too, i'll re-save it and upload it.
(added now - to optional files - file "Compatibility Patch for Alternate Eye Shaders and Custom Texture EF Hair M Replacers")
Ok so, weirdly enough, the mod conflicts with my Belen - PC hair style (with costum textures) from misc hairstyles for frosty. The eyes of both EF and EM were blank or one bright color, like you described. So i moved the hair mod above yours and now it works fine! Maybe this information will help others :)
hi, yes that's because both mods edit the same lists which are used to determine what textures are used on the 3d models in the scenes.
the hair with custom textures changes that list so that non-customizable NPCs who wear that same modded hairstyle don't have patchy hair.
the eyes change it because otherwise well the eyes go blank as you saw.
so whilst rearranging the order to prioritise the eyes will fix the blank eyes, it will also override the edits that stops NPCs with the same hairstyle having patchy hair.
for this reason, i've added a compatibility patch in the optional files, load it beneath the base eye mod and the hair with custom textures for expected results (with one of the eye shader options installed as well, of course.) for belen, that would be the Custom Texture HF Hair PC Replacer Compatibility file.
thank you so much for this, it has always bothered me that my Lavellan doesn't have the big eyes she's supposed to have, especially when you meet Briala
I think your Lavellan may still have some competition when it comes to eye size haha, as the generic elf female shaders affect not only the inquisitor, but also Briala too, since they both share the same basefile for the head, so her eyes will be even bigger with this on.
But, it will make your Lavellan's eyes bigger too, just, not as big as Briala's.

Just the other day I was grumbling about how little their eyes are, imagine my surprise when I opened nexus :D
