Hi! I'm sorry if you guys are experiencing issues with the mod. I'll look into it and see what's wrong.
Edit: I ran some tests with only my mod installed, I played through In Hushed Whispers and got back to Haven. I did have some frame drop issues during the quest but none of the reported issues in Haven with Dorian there. To be on the safe side I ran all my mods through the latest Mod Maker.
Mod Maker 0.59 is the latest right? Also, when you got back to Haven, were all the companions in there locations and you were able to speak to them? I can upload pics for you to see... I REALLY want this mod to work. LOL. the resd smoke looks SOO good!
As of March 30, 2016 I am still having issues with this mod in Haven. Companions disappear and as I continue to move around different parts of the map disappear too. It corrupts at least 2 save files at a time (the current one, and the one before it). Using Mod Manager 0.59, latest patch.
I've been having the same issue as well, but I'm curious if it is only present in Haven. Meaning if I get to Skyhold can I put the mod back in? I wasn't sure if anyone else had tested it that far into the game, but if not, I'll give it a shot once I get there.
Edit: I've been using it with no issues so far post Haven. I'll report back if it changes, but it seems that Dorian in Black is all good in Skyhold.
i hope this is okay, but i wanted to give some insight into why there are some bugs with this mod, in case anybody here wants to get into making their own retextures for dai mod manager.
the reason this mod has bugs is because it is a retexture made with dai mod maker 19, which is the newest version of the dai mod maker. generally, mod maker 19 is more for ebx edit/binary or hex edit mods, and less so for retextures and 3d model edits, which tend to become unstable when made with this version of the mod maker.
the most stable version of the dai mod maker for making retextures and 3d model edit mods with specifically is mod maker 17. you can get that version of the mod maker here, just scroll down a bit, and you should eventually see a post for mod maker 1.1.0.17, which is the one you'll want for those kinds of mods.
DO NOT use this mod - it WILL break the game after you meet Dorian for the first time in Redcliffe's Chantry and help him close the rift. You will be able to leave Redcliffe and go back to Haven, but once you go to the War Table and attempt to begin either In Hushed Whispers or Champions of the Just, entering the War Room will trigger an infinite loading screen that cannot be resolved by settings adjustment or by any other temp fixes.
I have over 80+ DAIMOD mods installed and THIS is the one that broke the game for me. Do NOT download.
To anyone planning on using this mod in 2024, don't. Unfortunately this mod breaks the game as early as Haven prior to choosing the templars or mages path. In my case, load times when going to the war table were extended and eventually infinite once I spoke to the mages in Redcliffe. I cannot, in good conscience recommend this mod, even as visually appealing as it is.
This mod should be removed dear mod author. I understand you don't want to update in mod maker 17 but at least hide this mod or something because it does not work. The reason why this mod is completely broken is detailed in a comment in your sticky. Please address this issue for the good folks at Nexus.
I am very grateful for your intention in sharing this with us but the mod is doing more harm than good. I realized you were still an active user when I checked your page and I hope this message finds you well.
I LOVE the look of this mod. And it worked great for me for a while. But sadly I just got hit this week with the "stuck on the infinite loading screen" bug anytime I tried to travel back to Skyhold. I uninstalled my mods one by one, and this was the one that made it happen. I'm so sad to not be able to use it. :( I hate Dorian's vanilla pajamas. But it's making my game get stuck, so I can't endorse it.
I have a new PC and I really thought my graphics card was bad. I will not spend a lot of time telling you how much time and research I have done looking for a fix just to exclude my new PC graphics card or some other issue. I decided to start anew and read the post of every mod I would like to install. I am in shock. There is also two other mods well known I adore and have used before but before I could finish the game all hell broke loose, party members disappearing, map distortions, unable to even leave Haven area, building textures and structures missing, unable to interact with anyone. In order to exit from the game I had to bring up task manager otherwise I would still be waiting. I took screenshots waiting for tech support, still waiting. I have been able to duplicate the problem. I suspect the method used to make Frosty and DAIMM work together in the same game is no longer cut and dry. Older mods are not as forgiving as they use to be. I tried 2 different versions of Frosty and 2 of DAIMM All I can say is read the post for the mod you want to install first and what version of mod manager is used to install it.
So like other users have reported in the past, the mod hasn't been working bug-free for everyone. I've eliminated all mods in my modslist individually and found this mod to be causing a game breaking bug consisting of npc's going missing and a broken world/local map which caused the infinite loading screen bug. It's too bad, Dorian looks great in black! ;)
Thanks Hazevamp for creating this mod, I hope one day they'll return to try and fix these issues as everyday it seems more and more likely that Bioware will no longer exist due to recent events such as Anthem launching very poorly and of course Andromeda never taking off with it's own slew of issues. This may very well be the last DA game, which hurts to say. Damn it EA.
I honestly don't know how one little colour change of an character's outfit can cause so many issues, tried both versions of the black at different times, installed one on a new game, booted up fine and Solas was there at the start on the way to the temple but upon waking in Haven, both Solas and Adan the alchemist are gone, still has the markers for them but no actual people. Then I noticed when I went into the chantry the war room was maybe 4 -5 metres back and just empty ground between Josie's room and the war room door, can jump down, walk across and click on the door but then get infinite load, then when I wanted to head over to the Hinterlands, all the tarot cards were just grey with no names or details and to top it all off wasn't able to shut down game, would just get black screen with the flashing inquisition symbol.
I thought it was a problem with my game, repairing it did nothing so uninstalled and spent a good 8 hours downloading it again and tried the other version on a fresh install, exact same problem. But oh look, uninstalled and booted up and there's Solas, turned around and poked my head in the alchemy shop and saw Adan and not had any issues with the chantry or closing since. Spent about 3 days trying to find out what was causing the issue and saw a post on reddit talking about this mod being the cause of so many issues, frustrating to find it was one little colour change screwing it all up.
Is it a case of do not install until at Skyhold? If so you should really make that obvious in the description, but I don't think I wanna try again with it after all that, shame as it looked nice and went with my overall black and silver look for the inquisition team.

It causes an infinite loading screen at the Haven war table at about Inquisitor/Herald level 8, keeping me from advancing the game.
At this point I haven't even recruited Dorian yet.
Since the mod appears to be orphaned and no longer supported, I suggest it not be used.
One of my favorites too. Withdrawing my approval until the mod is fixed. Sorry.
