Hi there. Sorry I am super late to modding DAI but I saw this mod and got curious, does this mod allow for the player-character to keep their weapon unsheathed outside of combat? I kinda dislike that the game automatically makes you sheath your weapon. I like running around with my daggers out. Thanks for the help!
It's been a while since I played with this mod-- but yes, I believe sheathing/unsheathing is a free action with this mod active. There might still be a timer that sheathes your weapon if you haven't attacked anything in a while?
I've actually really, really wanted to do this! In fact I've spent hours on this exactly and unfortunately gotten nowhere...
I've done similar mods like this for myself for other games, but I for the life of me cannot find where DAI is keeping anything related to combat/explore states and the inventory/character editing screens.
I periodically go back to this issue whenever I feel like pulling my hair out, and I'll upload a mod if I ever figure it out. But unfortunately right now, I am stuck.
Good point. I've also been trying to implement mounted combat, and I think both issues are wrapped up in how the game keeps track of stance. I've caught glimpses of how this works in DAI, but don't understand it totally yet : /.
any updates? even making the game think we're out of combat for a second so we can change the abilities would address the issue. This is the mod that is closest to that, that I can find, since you managed to allow us to use abilities outside of situations the game would let us.
Fade stepping through skyhold and stealthing around is awesome.
edit: Having the options to assign abilities to the potions slots would help too.
I think I might have run into a conflict on the new version. I just upgraded to it on a new save and now I can't use the tactical camera at all (either by zooming out or pressing the key for it). Conversation Camera Zoom for Frosty is the only other mod I have that should be affecting the camera, so I assume that's the source of the problem.
Just thought I should share in case anyone else likes both these mods. I'll see if loading this after CCZ changes anything before I go back to the old version, but it'll be a while before I get to any non-cutscene conversations since it's evening and I haven't even reached Leliana yet lol.
That being said, even if switching the load order doesn't help, I'm not going to stop using the mod. There's just something satisfying about thwacking characters you don't like when you're not supposed to be able to! The last version worked for me just fine, so I'll just go back to that if all else fails.
Update: Loading this after CCZ works. Combat in Haven, tactical camera in Haven, and the conversation zoom working normally. There was a blip when I hovered over Varric in tc mode in Haven and he became uninteractable, but walking out of Haven's gates and back in again fixed him.
of all the important mods i've downloaded, I think this one tops every other one purely because I'm always complaining about how slow my character moves during ANYTHING. thanks for this
Pretty excellent mod, btw, using the movement spells in hubs are amazingly time-saving, thank you! Also, is there any way to enable the Tactical Camera in these hub areas? I particularly enjoy exploring the areas with the Point and Click kind of Origins style of gameplay, but not being able to use the Tac Cam in those areas really throws a wrench in that playstyle.
